Density functional theory (DFT) predicts superior lithium-ion diffusion the (101) plane of NaNbO. Experimental results confirm that despite a reduction in surface area, 6 μm NaNbO cubes with more (101) plane exposure exhibit enhanced Li storage, underscoring the significance of crystal facet engineering.

Recently, metal halides have attracted much attention due to their fascinating optical properties. However, achieving efficient white emission with ultralong afterglow remains a great challenge. Herein, we report Sb/Mn-codoped CsCdCl and multiple emission bands can be observed, which are derived from the self-trapped exciton emission of the Sb-Cl moiety and the d-d transition of Mn.

In this study, two beneficial factors, optimization of the bacteria culture medium and encapsulation of bacterial spores, were used to improve the MICP efficiency of Sporosarcina pasteurii in self-healing cement. On the one hand, in medium optimization, we compared the growth of Sporosarcina pasteurii fed with two generally used nitrogen sources, e.

Herein, the performance of heterobimetallic clusters MOF-1213(Dy/Ni) for ethylene oligomerization reactions was investigated. At 30 °C and 40 bar, its average ethylene turnover frequency is approximately 160 000 h (α-olefins selectivity above 80%), which was higher than the activity previously reported for most heterogeneous catalysts under similar conditions.

However, such a microfluidic device usually needs complicated device fabrication and sample dilution, hampering the efficient and sensitive identification of target bacteria. In this study, we develop and fabricate a sheath-assisted and pneumatic-induced nano-sieve device for achieving the improved on-chip concentration and sensitive detection of (MRSA).

Objective: This study sheds light on the characteristics and clinical outcomes of HFimpEF patients, including the consequences of halting guideline-directed medical therapy (GDMT).
Methods: This retrospective study was conducted on patients diagnosed with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) who underwent a second echocardiogram at least 6 months apart between January 2009 and February 2023.
PULSAR (personalized, ultra-fractionated stereotactic adaptive radiotherapy) is the adaptation of stereotactic ablative radiotherapy towards personalized cancer management. It has potential to harness the synergy between radiation therapy and immunotherapy, such as immune checkpoint inhibitors to amplify the anti-tumor immune response. For the first time, we applied a transformer-based attention mechanism to investigate the underlying interactions between combined PULSAR and PD-L1 blockade immunotherapy, based on the preliminary experimental results of a murine cancer model (Lewis Lung Carcinoma, LLC).

However, concerns over antibiotic resistance have driven a shift away from AGPs toward natural alternatives. Despite the widespread use, the exact mechanisms of AGPs and alternatives are not fully understood.

Introduction: Monitoring the heart rate (HR) of pets is challenging when contact with a conscious pet is inconvenient, difficult, injurious, distressing, or dangerous for veterinarians or pet owners. However, few established, simple, and non-invasive techniques for HR measurement in pets exist.
Methods: To address this gap, we propose a novel, contactless approach for HR monitoring in pet dogs and cats, utilizing facial videos and imaging photoplethysmography (iPPG).
Background: Probiotics, which are beneficial to the host, have been shown to benefit the health of cats. Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) are commonly used probiotics, but most strains used for cats are not derived from cats, leading to reduced efficacy and poor adaptation to cats. The objective was to identify LAB with promising probiotic potential specific to cats.

Inspired by the hierarchical porous structure of natural bone, this study introduces a novel method for the scalable production of ultra-long, copper-doped hydroxyapatite (Cu-HAp) fibers, utilizing the rapid gelation properties of guar gum (GG) under controlled conditions. These fibers serve as foundational units to fabricate three-dimensional porous scaffolds with a biomimetic hierarchical architecture.

However, studies focusing on the comparisons of their role on predictive efficacy for prognosis of PD patient are limited and results are inconsistent. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the prognostic value of various systemic inflammation biomarkers and to identify the optimal one in PD patients.

Methods: A total of 165 patients with pathological slides and multi-phase CT images were included to develop a radiomics signature for predicting the imaging-based myeloid response score (iMRS). Overall survival (OS) and recurrence-free survival (RFS) were assessed according to the iMRS risk group and validated in a surgical resection cohort ( = 98).

The porcine delta coronavirus (PDCoV) is a member of the Delta coronavirus genus, which can lead to diarrhea, vomiting, and mortality in piglets. First detected in Hong Kong in 2012, PDCoV has since spread globally. In January 2024, two strains, CHN-ANHZ-2024 and CHN-JSSQ-2024, were isolated from diarrheal piglets in Anhui and Jiangsu provinces.

Depression is a leading mental health disorder worldwide, contributing substantially to the global disease burden. While emerging evidence suggests links between specific air pollutants and depression, the potential interactions among multiple pollutants remain underexplored. Here we show the influence of six common air pollutants on depressive symptoms among middle-aged and older Chinese adults.
