This study investigated the adsorption and redox behaviors of Tl(I) with acid birnessite (AcBi) in the presence of 1,4-piperazine-diethanesulfonic acid (PIPES) and goethite under diffusion-limited conditions using Donnan reactors in aerobic and anaerobic environments. Our findings indicate that Tl(I) preferentially adsorbs onto AcBi, with capacities 20 to 100 times higher than onto goethite, even when AcBi is partial reduced by PIPES.

The Oxidative Balance Score (OBS) is an integrated measure that reflects the overall balance of antioxidants and pro-oxidants in dietary components and lifestyle. However, there are limited reports on the association between OBS and lean mass and the impact of protein intake on the association between OBS and lean mass.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFFloral bud induction is of great importance for fruit crops, which may substantially affect fruit yield. Previously, a FLOWERING BHLH (FBH) transcription factor gene HpbHLH70 was identified in pitaya (Hylocereus polyrhizus) as subjected to drought stress. In present work, HpbHLH70 was found predominantly activated in pitaya anthers.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFLung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) is a leading cause of cancer-related deaths, and improving prognostic accuracy is vital for personalised treatment approaches, especially in the context of immunotherapy. In this study, we constructed an artificial intelligence (AI)-driven stemness-related gene signature (SRS) that deciphered LUAD prognosis and immunotherapy response. CytoTRACE analysis of single-cell RNA sequencing data identified genes associated with stemness in LUAD epithelial cells.

How to quickly measure and monitor the IC-XT online for an MCF-based space division multiplexing (SDM) system is of special importance. In this paper, we introduce the technology of auxiliary management and control channel (AMCC) to online monitor the IC-XT of MCF, in which the unique advantage of low-frequency auxiliary management and control signal is fully utilized with the limited influence on high-speed data transmission.

Despite their attraction, a comprehensive understanding of rGO-solution interfaces (specifically, electrochemical interfacial properties influenced by linker molecules and surface chemistry) remains challenging, given the limited capability of analytical tools to directly measure intricate solution interface properties. In this study, we introduce an analytical tool designed to directly measure the surface charge density of the rGO-solution interface leveraging the remote floating-gate FET (RFGFET) platform.

This study aims to evaluate the feasibility and potential of olivine-based ocean alkalinity enhancement (OAE) for the removal of atmospheric CO and its storage in seawater as bicarbonates in the East and South China Seas (ESCS). A particular focus is placed on the potential ecological impacts arising from the release of nickel (Ni) and chromium (Cr) during the olivine weathering process.
