Rationale: Cavernous hemangiomas are benign vascular malformations that usually involve the skin, subcutaneous tissue, and liver. Described herein was multiple masses in the lung and liver mimicking metastasis, which was proved to be cavernous hemangiomas histologically.
Patient Concerns: A 78-year-old man with complaint of dizziness for 3 days was referred to the local hospital for medical attention.
Objectives: The authors sought to investigate the midterm efficacy and safety of drug-coated balloon (DCB) in the treatment of severe femoropopliteal artery disease (FPAD).
Background: The midterm outcome of DCB versus uncoated balloon percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA) for FPAD are still debated.
Methods: A total of 200 Chinese patients with FPAD were prospectively randomized into treatment with DCB or with PTA.
Aquaporins (AQPs) are widely applied in biomimetic membranes for water recycling and desalination. In this study, a novel aquaporin was isolated from SS9 (AQP SS9), which showed high water permeability and potential for practical water purification applications. To improve the stability of the AQP SS9 embedded biomimetic membranes, a modified AQP SS9 was obtained by incorporation of an unnatural amino acid (-propargyloxyphenylalanine, Ppa) (P-AQP SS9) using a mutated tyrosyl-tRNA synthetase (TyrRS) and the cell-free expression system.

Significant downshifts are observed for both the aromatic ring stretching and carbonyl stretching modes, which are related to a reduction of the bond order and increase of the charge density on these moieties. For three aromatic imides, i.

The theory naturally accounts for the reaction field without resorting to the cavity construct and leads to a simple formula for the dielectric constant in terms of the molecular dipole moment and density. We apply our formula to calculate the dielectric constants of nonpolarizable liquid models for more than a hundred small molecules without using any adjustable parameters.

Background: Dexmedetomidine is a widely used sedative in clinic, which is mainly metabolized by cytochrome P450 2A6 (CYP2A6). Dexmedetomidine was rarely reported for off-label usage of premedication, but lacking relevant pharmacokinetic investigations. Therefore, our study determined the dexmedetomidine pharmacokinetics of CYP2A6*4 allele in Chinese patients pretreated with dexmedetomidine whose mutation frequency of CYP2A6*4 are high, in order to provide clinical references.

In this study, a systematic review and meta-analysis evaluating the prognostic value of these techniques is performed in patients with ischemic and non-ischemic cardiomyopathy. PubMed, Cochrane CENTRAL, and Meta-Register of Controlled Trials were searched for studies that utilized T1 mapping and ECV and that also had ≥ 12 months of follow-up data.

We detected circRNAs expression profiles in heart tissues taken from six aborted fetuses with VSD and normal group using circRNA microarray. Some differentially expressed circRNAs were studied by bioinformatics analysis.

The CCT results show that the Si-Al mesoporous structure can effectively decrease heat release rate (HRR), total heat release (THR), smoke production rate (SPR), total smoke production (TSP), smoke rate (SR), CO and CO concentration, etc. Particularly, the SR curves of MDF present that Si-Al mesoporous structure are considered to be a filter, which can net the solid particles and volatile flammable components in the smoke and fix onto wood fiber.

However, the physiological significance of m6A in most highly methylated mRNAs is unknown. It was demonstrated previously that the circadian clock, based on transcription-translation negative feedback loops, is sensitive to the general inhibition of m6A.

It is widely acknowledged that faster-growing bacteria are killed faster by β-lactam antibiotics. This notion serves as the foundation for the concept of bacterial persistence: dormant bacterial cells that do not grow are phenotypically tolerant against β-lactam treatment. Such correlation has often been invoked in the mathematical modeling of bacterial responses to antibiotics.

To get a better understanding of the chemical constituents in PC, ultra-high performance liquid chromatography coupled with electrospray ionization quadrupole time-of-flight tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-Q-TOF-MS/MS) and diagnostic ion filtering strategy were firstly employed for chemical profiling of PC. A total of 43 compounds including organic acids and derivatives, flavonoids as well as phenylpropanolds were unambiguously or reasonably identified.

Adequate migration and invasion of trophoblasts into the uterine wall and spiral arteries to form a functional maternal-fetal interface are pivotal for normal placentation, but the exact mechanism remains unclear. Growing evidence has revealed that special AT-rich sequence binding protein 1 (binds to nuclear matrix/scaffold-associating DNA) (SATB1) is a tumor promoter that participates in cancer cell migration and invasion.

Activation of the cAMP/protein kinase A (PKA)/cAMP response element-binding protein (CREB) pathway plays a crucial role in FSH regulation of CYP19A1 in human ovarian granulosa cells. A-Kinase anchor protein 95 (AKAP95) is known to confine PKA to the nucleus.

Objective: Special AT-rich sequence binding protein 1 (SATB1) play potential roles in invasion and metastasis of tumor cells, and involves in human placental and fetal development. The objective of this study is to explore the role of SATB1 in migration and invasion of trophoblast and the potential mechanism.
Methods: Human placental tissues from first trimester, second trimester, term, and preeclampsia (PE) pregnancies were used to detect the expression and subcellular location of SATB1 and β-catenin.
Inspired by the Papilio blumei butterfly, quantum-dot (QD) film coupled with micro-concavity array (MCA) films is proposed in this Letter to enhance color conversion efficiency (CCE) of QD-based light-emitting diodes (LEDs). The diameter, aspect ratio, and pitch of the MCA are optimized in the optical simulations. Both the simulation and experimental results show that the scattering and double reflection effects are the key to the CCE improvement of QD films.

Secondary organic aerosol (SOA) nearly always exists as an internal mixture, and the distribution of this mixture depends on the formation mechanism of SOA. A model is developed to examine the influence of using an internal mixing state based on the mechanism of formation and to estimate the radiative forcing of SOA in the future. For the present day, 66% of SOA is internally mixed with sulfate, while 34% is internally mixed with primary soot.
