Theileria is an obligatory intraerythrocytic protozoan parasite that causes economic losses to the cattle, sheep and goats industry. However, very little information is available on the genomes, transcriptomes, and proteomes of the ovine parasites, Theileria luwenshuni and Theileria uilenbergi.
