InAs/GaSb type-II superlattice materials have attracted in the field of infrared detection due to their high quality, uniformity and stability. The performance of InAs/GaSb type-II superlattice detector is limited by dark noise and light response. This work reports a gradual funnel photon trapping (GFPT) structure enabling the light trapping in the T2SL detector absorption area.

Herein, we first present porous PdPb alloys with the incorporation of amorphous Pb(OH) species as highly active and stable electrocatalysts. Alloying Pd with Pb species is initially proposed to optimize the Pd-Pd interatomic distance and adjust the d-band center of Pd.

Methods: From March 2015 to July 2020, a total of 3034 pregnant women aged 18 to 45 years old with single pregnancy at the gestational age of 28 to 40 weeks in 3 hospitals in Hefei were enrolled in the study. Questionnaire survey was conducted to collect general demographic characteristics, lifestyles and sleep status.
Background: Liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC) is among the most frequent causes of cancer-related death across the world with a considerably poor prognosis. The current study targeted providing a new type of LIHC from the perspective of the glycolysis/cholesterol synthesis axis, predicting its prognostic characteristics, and exploring the potential role and mechanism of the glycolysis/cholesterol synthesis axis in the occurrence and development of LIHC.
Methods: Based on the two expression profile data and clinical information of LIHC in The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database and hepatocellular carcinoma database (HCCDB), as well as glycolysis/cholesterol-related genes from the Molecular Signatures Database (MSigDB), unsupervised consistent clustering method was used to identify molecular subtypes.
A series of novel nitric oxide (NO)-releasing 5,8-quinolinedione/furoxan hybrids (8a-h and 9a-h) were designed and synthesized through coupling different alkanolamine substituted phenylsulfonyl furoxan with 5,8-quinolinedione. Most compounds displayed high cytotoxic activity against drug-sensitive/-resistant cancer cells. In particular, the IC of 9a (0.

The principle of micro-wetting is discussed. The simulation results show that the contact angle decreases upon increasing the interaction energy between the water and the titanium dioxide interface during the wetting process.

Methods: Multi-dimensional bioinformatics analysis was conducted to comprehensively identify the lipid metabolism-related genes (LMRGs) from public databases, as well as the clinical information, immune features, and biological characteristics of HCC.
Spherical cellulose nanocrystal (CNC), as a high value cellulose derivative, shows an excellent application potential in biomedicine, food packaging, energy storage, and many other fields due to its special structure. CNC is usually prepared by the mixed acid hydrolysis method from numerous cellulose raw materials. However, the pretreatment route in preparing spherical CNC from cellulose fiber is still used when choosing microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) as the raw material, which is not rigorous and economical.

However, the results are inconclusive. We designed a population-based cohort study to examine the effects of placental inflammatory biomarkers on the sex-dependent associations between maternal phthalate exposure and infant AR.

In this study, we report the generation of a monoclonal antibody against monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE) and the development, validation, and application of sensitive and high-throughput enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA) to measure the concentrations of MMAE-conjugated ADCs and total antibodies (tAb, antibodies in ADC plus unconjugated antibodies) in cynomolgus monkey sera. These assays were successfully applied to in vitro plasma stability and pharmacokinetic (PK) studies of SMADC001, an MMAE-conjugated ADC against trophoblast cell surface antigen 2 (TROP-2).

This study aimed to identify the novel molecular typing of HCC according to the genetic and immune characteristics, to obtain accurate clinical management of this disease. We performed consensus clustering to divide 424 patients into different immune subgroups and assessed the reproducibility and efficiency in two independent cohorts with 921 patients.

Herein, we present spongelike Pd nanocrystals with the modification of amorphous Ni(OH) species. The catalyst configuration is first considered by compositing Pd with Ni(OH) species to optimize the Pd-Pd interatomic distance and then constructing a strongly coupled interface between Pd nanostructures and Ni(OH) species.

A series of biological reactions caused by the interaction of wear particles at the prosthesis bone interface and surrounding bone tissue cells after artificial joint replacement are vital reasons for aseptic loosening. Disorder of bone metabolism and aseptic inflammation induced by wear particles are involved in the occurrence and development of aseptic loosening of the prosthesis.

Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) dysregulation can contribute to cancer occurrence and progression, although the underlying molecular pathways are mostly unclear. HOXC-AS3 was found to be considerably overexpressed in HCC in this investigation.

The clinical application of biomarkers reflecting tumor immune microenvironment is hurdled by the invasiveness of obtaining tissues despite its importance in immunotherapy. This study aimed to develop a robust and non-invasive radiomics/deep learning machine biomarker for predicting the response to immunotherapy in NSCLC patients.

Objectives: To investigate the clinical characteristics of infantile subglottic hemangioma (SGH), and to observe the safety and efficacy of propranolol in the treatment of SGH.
Methods: The data of 21 children diagnosed with SGH and treated with propranolol in our hospital from March 2013 to January 2021 were retrospectively analyzed and followed up.
Results: Among the 21 cases, there were 7 males and 14 females.
Background: Pro-inflammatory diets play an important role in developing cardiovascular disease (CVD). Vitamin D has been demonstrated to have an anti-inflammatory effect and promote cardiovascular health (CVH). However, it is unclear whether adequate vitamin D during pregnancy protects against poor CVH caused by pro-inflammatory diets.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFFerroptosis is a kind of iron-dependent regulatory necrosis characterized by the fatal accumulation of iron-dependent lipid peroxides in the plasma membrane and the final oxidative damage of the cell membrane. Morphologically, ferroptosis features high membrane density, decreased or disappeared cristae, rupture of the mitochondrial outer membrane, plasma membrane integrity loss, cytoplasmic swelling, and organelle swelling. Under physiological conditions, ferroptosis occurs through two major pathways, the extrinsic or transporter-dependent pathway and the intrinsic or enzyme-regulated pathway, triggered by a series of small molecules inside and outside the cell.
