A topological insulator with large bulk-insulating behavior and high electron mobility of the surface state is needed urgently, not only because it would be a good platform for studying topological surface states but also because it is a prerequisite for potential future applications. In this work, we demonstrated that tin (Sn) or indium (In) dopants could be introduced into a BiSbTeSe single crystal. The impacts of the dopants on the bulk-insulating property and electron mobility of the surface state were systematically investigated by electrical transport measurements.

The digital health field's pursuit of massive, personalized healthcare continuously faces constraints from doctors' resources and capacity limitations. Recently, the emergence of large language models (LLMs), with their remarkable comprehension and processing abilities, has revolutionized digital health and enhanced massive, personalized healthcare. Although these LLMs have achieved significant advancements, they have also introduced inevitable hallucinations, which impact patient safety when used in massive applications.

However, the clinical application of tumor phototherapy is severely restrained by the lack of appropriate multimodal phototherapy agents exhibiting an ideal tissue penetration depth to maximize the antitumor efficiency as well as to maintain important tissue functions. Herein, an innovative near-infrared ray (NIR)-triggered photodynamic-photocatalytic-photothermal therapy (PDT-PCT-PTT) agent based on an atomically dispersed cobalt single-atom enzyme (Co-SAE) anchored on hollow N-doped carbon sphere (HNCS) has been strategically developed.

To investigate the characteristics of taurine and betaine and identify single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) associated with traits in C. hongkongensis, we cloned the full-length cDNA of key genes involved in taurine and betaine metabolism (unpublished data), determined taurine and betaine content and gene expression in different tissues and months of the oyster specimen collection, and developed SNPs in the gene coding region.

Their capsid proteins share homology with the RNA virus , while their replicase-associated proteins are homologous to a class of single-stranded DNA viruses, namely CRESS DNA viruses. This study identifies seven novel crucivirus genomes from oysters cultivated along the coast of the South China Sea.

However, the association between gestational temperature and vitamin D level in newborns remains unclear. Our study aims to explore this association and the necessity of maternal vitamin D supplementation when ambient temperature is less than a specific value.

Methods: We retrospectively collected patients with colorectal liver metastases from January 2012 to October 2023 at the Guangxi Medical University Cancer Hospital.
Importance: While guidelines recommend bedtime snacks for women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), there is insufficient evidence championed those recommendation.
Objective: To evaluate if bedtime snacking is effective in preventing high fasting blood glucose incidence among women with GDM.
Design: An open-label, parallel-group, randomized controlled trial was conducted from December 2023 to July 2024 at Ma'anshan Maternal and Child Health Care Center, Anhui, China.

Background: Type 2 diabetes (T2D) has become a significant global health threat, yet its precise causes and mechanisms remain unclear. This study aims to identify gene expression patterns specific to T2D pancreatic islet cells and to explore the potential role of pancreatic stellate cells (PSCs) in T2D progression through regulatory networks involving lncRNA-mRNA interactions.
Methods: In this study, we screened for upregulated genes in T2D pancreatic islet samples using bulk sequencing (bulkseq) datasets and mapped these gene expression profiles onto three T2D single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNAseq) datasets.
Accelerated global urban expansion not only directly occupies surrounding ecosystems, but also induces cascading losses of natural vegetation elsewhere through cropland displacement. Yet, how such effects alter the net primary productivity (NPP) worldwide remains unclear. Here, we quantified the direct and cascading impacts of global urban expansion on terrestrial NPP from 1992 to 2020 and projected the impacts under the shared socioeconomic pathways framework by 2100.

TAVR + M-TEER surgery is usually performed under the simultaneous guidance of digital subtraction angiography (DSA) and echocardiography. There is no report of TAVR surgery assisted only by echocardiography all over the world.

We designed a pair of universal primers and a probe targeting the conserved region of the major capsid protein (MCP) genes of FV3-like viruses. By integrating recombinase-aided amplification (RAA) with lateral flow dipstick (LFD) technology and real-time fluorescence (RF) modification, we established RAA-LFD and RF-RAA assays.

Machine learning models have shown great potential in predicting clinical outcomes; however, the optimal model for this specific problem remains unclear.
Methods: Clinical data were collected and analyzed from 522 patients with ruptured HCC who underwent surgery at 7 different medical centers.
The human body is an intricate system, where diverse and complex signaling among different organs sustains physiological activities. The eye, as a primary organ for information acquisition, not only plays a crucial role in visual perception but also, as increasing evidence suggests, exerts a broad influence on the entire body through complex circuits upon receiving light signals which is called non-image-forming vision. However, the extent and mechanisms of light's impact on the body through the eyes remain insufficiently explored.
