Spatial and temporal monitoring of bioactive targets such as calcium ions is vitally significant for their essential roles in physiological and biochemical functions. Herein, we proposed an esterase-activated precipitating strategy to achieve highly specific identification and long-term bioimaging of calcium ions via lighting up the calcium ions by precipitation using a water-soluble aggregation-induced phosphorescence (AIP) probe. The designed probe CaP2 has an AIP behavior and can be efficiently aggregated by calcium ions through the coupling coordination of carboxylic acid and cyanide groups, which enables it to light up Ca by precipitating-triggered phosphorescence.

Long-term cell membrane-targeted bioimaging is of great significance for studying specific biological processes and functions, but currently developed membrane probes are rarely simultaneously used to image the plasma membrane of animal and plant cells, and these probes lack sufficiently high long-term targeting ability. Herein, we proposed an antipermeability strategy to achieve highly specific and long-term imaging of plasma membranes of both human and plant cells using the steric hindrance effect and restriction-induced emission of AIE-active probes based on an updated membrane model. A certain degree of rigidity of plasma membrane containing a large ratio of rigid cholesterol molecules in the updated membrane model provides a promising opportunity to design antipermeable probes by introducing a rigid steric hindrance group in the probe.

Incomplete multi-view clustering aims to exploit the information of multiple incomplete views to partition data into their clusters. Existing methods only utilize the pair-wise sample correlation and pair-wise view correlation to improve the clustering performance but neglect the high-order correlation of samples and that of views. To address this issue, we propose a high-order correlation preserved incomplete multi-view subspace clustering (HCP-IMSC) method which effectively recovers the missing views of samples and the subspace structure of incomplete multi-view data.

Selenium-heterocyclic and side-chain strategies for developing near-infrared (NIR) small fused-ring acceptors (FRAs) to further obtain short-circuit current density () have proven advantageous in the top-performing polymer solar cells (PSCs). Herein, a new electron-rich central selenium-containing heterocycle core (BTSe) attaching alkyl side chains with a terminal phenyl group was coupled with a difluorinated and dichlorinated electron-accepting terminal 1,1-dicyanomethylene-3-indanone (IC) to afford two types of new FRAs, BTSe-IC2F and BTSe-IC2Cl. Interestingly, in spite of the weaker intramolecular charge transfer, BTSe-IC2F shows a stronger NIR response because of the smaller bandgap () up to 1.

In March 2020, Hawai'i instituted public health measures to prevent the spread of Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), including stay-at-home orders, closure of non-essential businesses and parks, use of facial coverings, social distancing, and a mandatory 14-day quarantine for travelers. In response to these measures, Hawai'i Pacific Neuroscience (HPN) modified practice processes to ensure continuity of neurological treatment.
