Dissolved oxygen (DO) is essential for the health of aquatic ecosystems, supporting biogeochemical cycles and the decomposition of organic matter. However, continuous untreated external inputs from illicit discharges or sewer overflows, coupled with inadequate ecological base flow, have led to widespread river deoxygenation and serious ecological crises. This study demonstrates that chlorinated wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) effluent can significantly enhance DO levels in downstream rivers, particularly in areas with high pollution loads or poor ecological base flow.

Arabidopsis thaliana FRATAXIN HOMOLOG (AtFH) is the first identified plant frataxin and has been found to regulate the last step of heme biosynthesis. Here, we report the involvement of AtFH in heme catabolism by regulating the activity of heme oxygenase.

Methods: The database of Shaoxing Children's Oral Health Management Network Platform was established. The oral health survey and information entry of 7 042 second-grade children in primary school in Yuecheng District from 2021 to 2022 were conducted.
Malignant ovarian sex cord-stromal tumors belong to a specific type of ovarian epithelial carcinoma, and their prognosis is related to the kind of pathology. Unlike epithelial ovarian cancer, most malignant ovarian sex cord-stromal tumors are low-grade malignant and have a good prognosis. Still, they have a tendency to recur in the long term, and the mortality rate of patients after recurrence is high.

In this paper, four theoretical model structures of lignin formed by lignin G monomers and connected by β-O-4 bonding type were optimized and calculated based on the density functional theory using the B3LYP/3-21g and B3LYP/6-311g basis sets. The results showed that the theoretical infrared spectra of lignin increased sequentially in the absorption peaks of 1500 cm blue shift and 2932 cm and 1200 cm red shift, while the latter three theoretical models showed new infrared absorption peaks of 716 cm and 823 cm due to the presence of the β-O-4 structure, which is of great value for the theoretical spectral study of organic macromolecules and also provides data support for the spectral change in lignin in the degradation of graminaceous plants.

Gibberellin oxidase (GAox) is an essential enzyme that activates gibberellins, which regulate plant growth, and development, and have a significant impact on plant responses to abiotic stress. However, the comprehensive understanding of GAox genes and their evolution in Brassica plants remains elusive.

Based on seven pairs of tumors and non-tumor adjacent tissues (NATs) proteomic datasets across five cancer types, this study systematically investigates the stratified and therapeutic value of tumors and NATs for tumor recurrence. NATs exhibited stable and irreplaceable independent prognostic capabilities for recurrence, complementing clinical indicators and tumor characteristics.

Females and males are known to be different in the prevalences of multiple psychiatric disorders, while the underlying neural mechanisms are unclear. Based on non-invasive neuroimaging techniques and graph theory, many researchers have tried to use a small-world network model to elucidate sex differences in the brain. This manuscript aims to compile the related research findings from the past few years and summarize the sex differences in human brain networks in both normal and psychiatric populations from the perspective of small-world properties.

Currently, IFN-γ licensing received the most attention in comparison with other cytokines. After licensing human bone marrow-derived MSCs with pro-/anti-inflammatory cytokines IFN-γ, IL-1β, TNF-α, TGF-β1 alone or in combination, the in vitro immunomodulatory potency of these MSCs was studied by incubating with allogeneic T cells and macrophage-like THP-1 cells.

Methods: The circular structure of hsa_circ_0001610 was confirmed by Sanger sequencing, RNase R treatment, RT-PCR analysis using gDNA or cDNA. Cellular localization of hsa_circ_0001610 and microRNA-139-5p (miR-139-5p) was detected by fluorescence in situ hybridization.
This study aimed to explore the molecular mechanism of neuronal cell adhesion molecule (NrCAM) by regulating Th17 cell differentiation in the pathogenesis of Graves' disease (GD). Naïve CD4 T cells were isolated from peripheral blood mononuclear cells of GD patients and healthy control (HC) subjects. During the differentiation of CD4 T cells into Th17 cells, NrCAM level in GD group was improved.

Herein, inspired by the meso-structure of rhinoceros skin, a novel strategy is proposed by compounding an ammonium sulfate ((NH)SO) solution soaked gelatin hydrogel with the high weight fraction and vertically interwoven Kevlar fibers to manufacture a flexible and wearable composite with enhanced puncture resistance and strain-sensing properties. After (NH)SO solution immersion, the hydrogel's tensile strength, toughness, and fracture strain were up to 3.

Recently, quantitative ultrasound (QUS) imaging has been recognized with the potential to better sense the changes in the microstructure of ablated tissues.
Purpose: This study proposed to use a QUS method called weighted ultrasound entropy (WUE) imaging to monitor the HIFU ablation.
Background: To investigate the role of lncRNA LINC00665 in modulating ovarian cancer stemness and its influence on treatment resistance and cancer development.
Methods: We isolated ovarian cancer stem cells (OCSCs) from the COC1 cell line using a combination of chemotherapeutic agents and growth factors, and verified their stemness through western blotting and immunofluorescence for stem cell markers. Employing bioinformatics, we identified lncRNAs associated with ovarian cancer, with a focus on LINC00665 and its interaction with the CNBP mRNA.

Purpose: This study explored whether a free-breathing mean heart dose (FB-MHD) of 4 Gy is a reliable dose threshold for selecting left breast cancer patients after modified radical mastectomy suitable for deep inspiration breath-hold (DIBH) and developed anatomical indicators to predict FB-MHD for rapid selection.
Materials And Methods: Twenty-three patients with left breast cancer treated with DIBH were included to compare FB and DIBH plans. The patients were divided into the high-risk (FB-MHD ≥ 4 Gy) and low-risk (FB-MHD < 4 Gy) groups to compare dose difference, normal tissue complication probability (NTCP) and the DIBH benefits.
