Ferroptosis occurs in the SCs of injured tissues, causing damage to the SCs and exacerbating nerve injury. Targeting ferroptosis in SCs is a promising therapeutic strategy for effective repair; however, research on ferroptosis in the peripheral nervous system remains limited.

Noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL) results from prolonged exposure to intense noise, causing damage to sensory outer hair cells (OHCs) and spiral ganglion neurons (SGNs). The blood labyrinth barrier (BLB) hinders systemic drug delivery to the inner ear. This study applied a retro-auricular round window membrane (RWM) method to bypass the BLB, enabling the transport of macromolecular proteins into the inner ear.

The results of this study showed that during the broody period, geese exhibited degraded ovarian tissues, disrupted follicular development, a thinner granulosa cell layer, and lower levels of ovarian hormones E2, P4, and AMH. Antioxidant activity (GSH, CAT, SOD, T-AOC, and the content of HO) and the mRNA expression levels of antioxidant genes (GPX, SOD-1, SOD-2, CAT, COX-2, and Hsp70) were significantly higher in pre-broody geese compared to laying geese, while the expression of apoptosis-related genes (p53, Caspase-3, and Caspase-9) increased and the anti-apoptotic gene Bcl-2 decreased.

While gut microbiota changes have been linked to depression, the relationship between oral microbiota and depression remains elusive. Our study aims to investigate the oral microbiota in treatment-naïve adolescents experiencing depression and examine their potential associations with cognitive function.

Patients And Methods: In this retrospective study, 62 participants with HER2-positive breast cancer underwent both Al18F-NOTA-HER2-BCH and 18F-FDG PET/CT. Participants were pathologically confirmed as HER2-positive (IHC 3+ or IHC 2+ with gene amplification on FISH).
Ischemic stroke is a worldwide disease with high mortality and morbidity. Kv7/KCNQ channels are key modulators of neuronal excitability and microglia function, and activation of Kv7/KCNQ channels has emerged as a potential therapeutic avenue for ischemic stroke. In the present study, we focused on a new Kv7/KCNQ channel opener QO-83 on the stroke outcomes and its therapeutic potential.

FET biosensors are mainly made up of FET parts, such as channel materials, and bio parts, such as receptors. This Tutorial provides an in-depth exploration of FET biosensors for protein detection from the composition perspective and discusses the commercialization of point-of-care diagnostics of proteins based on FET biosensors.

The development of a radiotracer that targets B7-H3 may provide a universal tumor-specific imaging agent and allow the noninvasive assessment of the whole-body distribution of B7-H3-expressing lesions.
Methods: We enhanced and optimized the structure of an affibody (ABY) that targets B7-H3 to create the radiolabeled radiotracer [68Ga]Ga-B7H3-BCH, and then, we conducted both foundational experiments and clinical translational studies.
Objective: Chinese shidu parents (bereaved parents who have lost the only child) may experience prolonged grief disorder, as well as posttraumatic growth (PTG). This study aimed to examine their latent classes and transition patterns of prolonged grief disorder symptoms and PTG.
Method: Based on a longitudinal design, 265 shidu parents completed the Prolonged Grief Scale-Revised and Short Form of Posttraumatic Growth Inventory for Chinese Shidu Parents twice with an interval of about 5 months.
Enzymatic catalysis offers notable advantages, including exceptional catalytic efficiency, selectivity, and the ability to operate under mild conditions. However, its widespread application is hindered by the high costs associated with enzymes and cofactors. Materials-mediated immobilization technology has proven effective in the recycling of enzymes and cofactors.

The red blood cell distribution width (RDW)-to-albumin ratio (RAR) has been widely explored in various inflammation-related diseases. However, the predictive value of RAR for the prognosis of CA remains unclear.

At present, small-molecule radiotracer targeting FAP with high specificity exhibit limited functionality, which hinders the integration of theranostics as well as multifunctionality. In this work, we have engineered a multifunctional nanoplatform utilizing organic melanin nanoparticles that specifically targets FAP, facilitating both multimodal imaging and synergistic therapeutic applications.

In the present study, four advanced machine learning algorithms-Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost), Random Forest (RF), Support Vector Machine (SVM), and -nearest neighbor (KNN)-were employed to develop predictive models. The clinical data of critically ill patients transferred to the intensive care unit (ICU) post-CME were meticulously analyzed to identify key risk factors associated with the development of gastroparesis.

The results showed that the hydrophobic and disulfide bonds were the main forces to maintain the stability of the ham protein. The compound curing agent reduced protein oxidation and promoted the transformation of the α-helix structure to the β-sheet structure.
