Objective: To compare preoperative predictors of nonorgan-confined (NOC) disease in patients with upper-tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC) from the United States (US) and China.
Methods: Clinicopathologic data of patients with UTUC treated surgically at tertiary care facilities in the US or China from 1998 to 2015 were, retrospectively, compiled. Patient characteristics, preoperative imaging, cytology, ureteroscopic findings, and serum markers (neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio, estimated glomerular filtration rate, hemoglobin, and albumin) were evaluated.
Emerging evidences have indicated that long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are pivotal regulators of tumor development and progression. HNF1A-AS1 (HNF1A antisense RNA 1, C12 or f27) is a novel long non-coding RNA that acts as a potential biomarker and is involved in development and progression of several cancers. Nevertheless, we know nothing about the clinical significance and molecular mechanism of HNF1A-AS1 in bladder cancer.

This study is to evaluate ERAS compared with the conventional recovery after surgery (CRAS) for RC-IUD.
Methods: From October 2014 and July 2016, bladder cancer patients scheduled for curative treatment from 25 centers of Chinese Bladder Cancer Consortium were randomly assigned to either ERAS or CRAS group.
Objectives: To investigate whether ureteroscopy (URS) before radical nephroureterectomy (RNU) for upper tract urothelial carcinomas (UTUCs) has an impact on oncological outcomes.
Patients And Methods: We performed a systematic literature search of PubMed, Web of Science, and EMBASE for citations published prior to September 2017 that described URS performed on patients with UTUC and conducted a standard meta-analysis on survival outcomes.
Results: Our meta-analysis included eight eligible studies containing 3975 patients.
Purpose: To develop nomograms predicting prostate cancer (PCa) and high-grade PCa (HGPCa) in the elderly population.
Methods: We reviewed the data of patients aged 75years and older who underwent first-time prostate biopsy and multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (mpMRI). The nomograms were developed based on multivariate analysis and evaluated.
To build a practical model for predicting the progression to castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) after androgen deprivation therapy (ADT).In all, 185 patients with prostate cancer who had received ADT as the primary therapy at our institution, from 2003 to 2014, were retrospectively enrolled. The following clinical variables were included in the analysis: age, clinical tumor, node, metastasis stage, Gleason score, risk groups of prostate cancer, prostate-specific antigen (PSA) at the initiation of ADT, PSA nadir after ADT, velocity of PSA decline, and the time to PSA nadir.

Patients And Methods: Patients diagnosed with ureteral SCC in Peking University First Hospital, Beijing, China, from January 2007 to December 2016 were included. In addition, we performed a systematic literature review, in October 2016, on case reports and case series of ureteral SCC.
Purpose: To evaluate the long-term outcomes of laparoscopic ureteral reimplantation with extracorporeal tailoring and direct nipple ureteroneocystostomy for adult obstructive megaureter and compare the results with the open procedure.
Methods: From January 2007 to July 2013, 22 patients underwent laparoscopic and 28 patients underwent open ureteral reimplantation for adult obstructive megaureter. For laparoscopic group, the dilated ureter was delivered out of through a 12-mm port and the distal end was tailored and formed into an antireflux nipple extracorporeally.
Background: The pretreatment neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) has been reported to be a prognostic factor in various types of carcinomas. The aim of this study was to investigate the prognostic value of pretreatment NLR in a large cohort of Chinese patients with upper tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC).
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the medical data of 656 UTUC patients who underwent radical nephroureterectomy (RNU) from 2001 to 2011 at Peking University First Hospital.

Objectives: To evaluate the prognosis of non-metastatic T3a renal cell carcinoma (RCC) with partial nephrectomy (PN).
Patients And Methods: We retrospectively evaluated 125 patients with non-metastatic T3a RCC. Patients undergoing PN and radical nephrectomy (RN) were strictly matched by clinic-pathologic characteristics.
Objective: To evaluate the feasibility of ileal ureter replacement combined with Boari flap-psoas hitch procedure for the management of full-length ureteral defects (>20 cm).
Methods: Three patients diagnosed with full-length ureteral defect were treated with our technique performed by a single surgeon between January 2015 to January 2016. All the patients had borderline renal function preoperatively.
Objective: To evaluate the feasibility of an internal suspension technique in retroperitoneal laparoscopic partial nephrectomy for the management of renal ventral tumors.
Methods: Between January 2013 and July 2016, a total of 145 patients underwent retroperitoneal laparoscopic partial nephrectomy with or without internal suspension technique. For patients who underwent internal suspension technique, the surgeons preserved the external fat of the renal tumor as a suspension traction measure when separating the kidney.
Background: To explore the prognostic significance of preoperative prognostic nutritional index (PNI) in bladder cancer after radical cystectomy and compare the prognostic ability of inflammation-based indices.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed data for 516 patients with bladder cancer who underwent radical cystectomy in our institution between 2006 to 2012. Clinicopathologic characteristics and inflammation-based indices (PNI, neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio [NLR], platelet/lymphocyte ratio [PLR], lymphocyte/monocyte ratio [LMR]) were evaluated by pre-treatment measurements.
Recent emerging evidences have showed that long non-coding RNAs play important regulatory roles in diverse biological processes of tumor development and progression. CCEPR (cervical carcinoma expressed PCNA regulatory lncRNA) is a novel identified lncRNA that acts as a potential biomarker and involves in development and progression of cervical carcinoma. Nevertheless, we know nothing about the clinical significance and molecular mechanism of CCEPR in bladder cancer.

Introduction: We compared the prognostic significance of inflammatory and nutritional scores, including the prognostic nutritional index (PNI), neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio, platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio, and lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio in patients with renal cell carcinoma (RCC) undergoing nephrectomy.
Patients And Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the data from 1360 patients with RCC undergoing nephrectomy from 2001 to 2010. The PNI was calculated as the serum albumin level (g/L) + 5 × lymphocyte count (10/L).
Bladder cancer is one of the most common urinary cancers worldwide. Emerging studies indicated that long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) play crucial roles in cancer biology. In this study, we found that a novel lncRNA Zinc finger E-box-binding homeebox1 (ZEB1) antisense RNA (ZEB1-AS1) was overexpressed in bladder cancer tissues compared to paired noncancerous tissues.
