Background: Although the information on the validation status of electronic sphygmomanometer (ES) devices in use in health care institutions and households is much more clinically relevant than that of ES models available on the market, it remains insufficient.
Methods: A national survey was conducted across all administrative regions of mainland China to assess the validation status of ESs. Fifty-eight cities were selected with stratification by municipality, provincial capital, and other cities, and health care institutions and households in each city were chosen by convenience to identify ES devices in use according to the study protocol.

Herein, to improve D-pantoic acid biosynthesis in , the central metabolic and byproduct-forming pathways were first engineered, increasing the D-pantoic acid titer to 1.

Xiaoyao Sanjie Decoction (XYSJD) exhibits remarkable therapeutic efficacy on TNBC; however, the underlying mechanism is unclear. This study verified the efficacy of XYSJD and its active component in the treatment of TNBC and explored its potential mechanism.

The difficulty in assessing the likelihood of outbreeding depression has hindered its consideration in endangered species conservation. However, genomic research offers feasible indications.

Methods: We utilized moxibustion treatment in RA rat models using the Zusanli (ST36) and Shenshu (BL23) acupoints. Hematoxylin and eosin (HE) staining was used to observe the pathological changes of the synovial tissue under a section light microscope, and pathological scoring was performed according to the grading standard of the degree of synovial tissue disease.

The Principle of Biotechnology is a compulsory course for undergraduates majoring in bioengineering at Zhejiang University of Technology. In response to the "Double First-Class" initiative and in order to improve the teaching effect of this course and the quality of talent training, we reformed the teaching of Principle of Biotechnology, the core course in bioengineering. Specifically, we reorganized the teaching contents, improved the process management of teaching and learning, and implemented multi-dimensional teaching practice.

Previously, we demonstrated that maternally derived Huluwa (Hwa) acts as a dorsal determinant, dictating axis formation by activating β-catenin signaling in zebrafish and Xenopus. However, the mechanism of activation and fine regulation of the Hwa protein remains unclear.

Materials And Methods: The WeChat PBL program was initiated in 2019. The study recruited student participants, on a voluntary basis, who were in their first and second years of standardized training in radiation oncology.
Although biological scaffolds containing bone morphogenetic protein-2 (BMP-2) have been widely used for osteogenic therapy, achieving stable and controlled release of BMP-2 remains a challenge. Herein, a novel BMP-2 sustained-release system composed of carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCS)/polyethylene glycol (PEG)/heparin sulfate (HS) (CMCS/PEG/HS) was constructed with a Schiff base reaction, yielding an injectable hydrogel for the release of BMP-2 in a controlled manner. For the CMCS/PEG/HS/BMP-2 hydrogel, the HS component had a negatively charged structure, which can bind to positively charged growth factors and prevent early hydrolytic metabolism of growth factors, thus achieving sustainable release of BMP-2.

Aims: This study aims to offer a detailed overview of moral distress among pediatric nurses, focusing on understanding its characteristics, prevalence, underlying causes, and consequences on the quality of patient care.
Methods: Employing a scoping review approach as recommended by the Joanna Briggs Institute, this study will systematically search through PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, APA PsycInfo, and CINAHL databases using specific search strategies.
Purpose: COVID-19 viral infection results in dysregulation of the complement system and a decrease in cortisol and adrenocorticotropin hormone (ACTH) levels. This study aimed to explore the complement system, as well as cortisol and ACTH responses in patients with post-COVID-19 conditions (PCC) and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).
Patients And Methods: This study recruited 31 patients with PCC and T2DM (PCC-T2DM), 19 patients with PCC (PCC), 10 patients with T2DM (T2DM), and 10 healthy participants (control).
To observe the effects of moxibustion on T cells and T cell immunoglobulin and mucin-domain-containing molecule-3/galectin-9 (Tim-3/Gal-9) pathway in rats with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). To further explore the possible anti-inflammatory mechanism of moxibustion in the treatment of RA. Thirty Sprague Dawley rats were randomly divided into three groups, including a control group, an RA model group, and a moxibustion group.

Methods And Results: By utilizing publicly accessible genome-wide association studies, we performed a two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis to explore the causal associations between inflammatory markers and myocardial infarction (MI). A random-effects inverse-variance weighted method was used to calculate effect estimates.
Pyroptosis is a form of programmed cell death that is crucial in the development of various diseases, including autoimmune diseases, atherosclerotic diseases, cancer, and pregnancy complications. In recent years, it has gained significant attention in national and international research due to its association with inflammatory immune overactivation and its involvement in pregnancy complications such as miscarriage and preeclampsia (PE). The mechanisms discussed include the canonical pyroptosis pathway of gasdermin activation and pore formation (caspase-1-dependent pyroptosis) and the non-canonical pyroptosis pathway (cysteoaspartic enzymes other than caspase-1).
View Article and Find Full Text PDFFerroptosis is a new form of regulated necrosis characterized by iron-dependent lipid peroxidation, leading to irreparable lipid damage, membrane permeabilization, and necrotic cell death. Ferroptosis has recently been implicated in the pathogenesis of multiple forms of heart disease such as myocardial infarction, cardiac hypertrophy, heart failure, and various cardiomyopathies. Important progress has also been made regarding how ferroptosis is regulated and as well as its role in cardiac homeostasis and disease pathogenesis.
