Using coal gangue as subgrade filler (CGSF) can address the accumulated issues of coal mine waste, but also save the constructing costs, which has the important ecological and engineering practical value. The well-graded limit of CGSF was captured based on the fractal model grading equation (FMGE). The large-scale vibration compaction test (LCT) shows that particle grading has a remarkable influence on the compaction of CGSF, with the increase of fine particle content, the dry density of sample first increases and then decreases.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aims to understand the diversity of synovial fibroblasts and their role in inflammatory responses in rheumatoid arthritis (RA).
  • Researchers used advanced techniques like single-cell profiling and RNA sequencing to identify different fibroblast populations in patients with various forms of arthritis.
  • A specific type of synovial fibroblast (ITGA5) was found to drive RA progression by promoting certain immune cells, suggesting that targeting this cell type could be a new treatment approach for RA.

Background: This prospective study aimed to investigate the influence of weight difference between implanted prosthesis and removed bone in cementless total hip arthroplasty (THA) on hip awareness and patient-reported outcomes.

Methods: A total of 48 patients (56 hips) who underwent primary THA were prospectively enrolled. Implanted prosthesis and removed bone were weighed intraoperatively.

Background: Osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH) is a disabling disease, which often involves young patients. Recently, various hip-preserving surgeries were recommended to delay total hip arthroplasty (THA).

Questions/purposes: This study aimed to compare clinical outcomes and survival rate in the long-term follow-up between core decompression combined with a non-vascularized autologous fibular graft (group A) and an allogeneic fibular graft (group B) for the treatment of ONFH.

Objectives: To assess the effects of a technique of cup blocking screws combined with impaction bone grafting during total hip arthroplasty (THA) for patients with developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH).

Methods: From August 2011 to July 2015, 53 patients (59 hips) with DDH in our hospital were treated with THA using the technique of cup blocking screws combined with impaction particulate bone grafting. These patients were prospectively followed, and the clinical and imaging results were collected.
