Background: Tropical Candida spondylitis is an uncommon cause of lower back pain in patients, especially in non-tropical areas or in patients not at risk of immunocompromise.
Case Presentation: A 65-year-old woman presented with a six-month history of poorly managed low back pain, now accompanied by numbness and pain in both lower extremities. Her medical history was significant for tertiary hypertension.
Objective: To investigate the effects of nursing interventions based on stress and accommodation theory on the mental state and self-management competence of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).
Methods: Fifty-five T2DM patients admitted to our hospital in 2022 who received standard nursing interventions were selected as the control group, and 61 T2DM patients admitted in 2023 who received stress and adaptation theory-based nursing intervention in addition to standard nursing interventions were enrolled as the observation group. Changes of blood glucose levels, mood state score, self-management competence and life quality were compared between the two groups before and after intervention.
Inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase 2 (IMPDH2) is highly expressed in human cancers; however, its physiological relevance under growth signaling remains to be investigated. Here, we show that IMPDH2 serine 122 is phosphorylated by CDK1, and this modification attenuates the catalytic activity of IMPDH2 for IMP oxidation and simultaneously represses its allosteric modulation by purine nucleotides. Fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGFR) signaling activation triggers IMPDH2-Ser122 dephosphorylation mediated by protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A), which is dependent on FGFR3-mediated PPP2R1A-Tyr261 phosphorylation leading to PPP2CA-PPP2R1A-IMPDH2 interactions.

However, the mechanisms by which they regulate sepsis-induced inflammatory microvascular injury remain unverified. In previous studies, we established the role of this regulatory axis in various phenotypic processes, including mitophagy, mitochondrial biogenesis, the mitochondrial unfolded protein response, and mitochondrial dynamics, while further confirming the interactive regulatory proteins within this axis.

Although anti-PD-L1 antibody, Tecentriq has been approved by FDA for treating TNBC, the overall response rate (ORR) is still generally less than 20 %. PPAB001 is a novel bispecific antibody simultaneously targeting CD47 and CD24.

Methods: Relevant papers on sacubitril/valsartan for treating AMI were searched on PubMed, Embase, Medical Literature Analysis, and Retrieval System On-Line (MEDLINE), Science Direct, The Cochrane Library, Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Wanfang Database, Chinese Scientific Journal Database, and Chinese Biomedical Literature Database (CBM). The time range was from their inception to February 1, 2023.
In P2-type layered oxide cathodes, Na site-regulation strategies are proposed to modulate the Na distribution and structural stability. However, their impact on the oxygen redox reactions remains poorly understood. Herein, the incorporation of K in the Na layer of NaNiCuMnO is successfully applied.

Methods: In this phase 2a study, participants with RA seropositive for anticitrullinated protein antibodies (ACPA) or rheumatoid factors were randomised 3:2 to nipocalimab (15 mg/kg intravenously every 2 weeks) or placebo from Weeks 0 to 10. Efficacy endpoints (primary endpoint: change from baseline in Disease Activity Score 28 using C reactive protein (DAS28-CRP) at Week 12) and patient-reported outcomes (PROs) were assessed through Week 12.
Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has been considered, for many years, an important source of medicine to treat different diseases. As a type of TCM, Maxim (ISM) is used as an anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, and anti-virus. Besides, ISM is also used in the treatment of cancer.

Necroptosis is a newly proposed cell death mode and has been proposed as a potential mechanism of intestinal disease. This study aimed to investigate the role of necroptosis in intestinal damage caused by DON exposure.

NADH/NAD redox balance is pivotal for cellular metabolism. Systematic identification of NAD(H) redox regulators, although currently lacking, would help uncover unknown effectors critically implicated in the coordination of growth metabolism. In this study, we performed a genome-scale RNA interference (RNAi) screen to globally survey the genes involved in redox modulation and identified the HES family bHLH transcription factor HES4 as a negative regulator of NADH/NAD ratio.

Here, a self-assembling hydrogel scaffold (named AMP-RAD/EXO), integrating antimicrobial peptides(AMPs), RADA16 and BMSCs exosomes with an innovative strategy, is developed and applied in IBD treatment for sustained antimicrobial ability, accelerating osteoblasts proliferation and promoting bone regeneration. AMPs present an excellent ability to inhibit infection, RADA16 is a self-assembling peptide hydrogel for AMPs delivery, and BMSCs exosomes can promote the bone regeneration.

By focusing on pain relief, patient rehabilitation, and satisfaction improvement, we aim to enhance the overall patient experience and outcomes of this common gynecological plastic surgery.
Methods: A total of 126 individuals diagnosed with labia minora hypertrophy and who underwent plastic surgery on their labia minora within the period of July 2020 to July 2023 were chosen as the participants for this study.
Malnutrition is a common and serious issue that worsens patient outcomes. The effects of dietary provision on the clinical outcomes of patients of different nutritional status needs to be verified. This study aimed to identify dietary provision in patients with eaten quantities of meal consumption and investigate the effects of dietary provision and different nutritional statuses defined by the GLIM criteria on clinical outcomes based on data from the nutritionDay surveys in China.

Tumor immunotherapy, which targets immune checkpoints, presents a promising strategy for the treatment of various cancer types. However, current clinical data indicate challenges in its application to solid tumors. Recent studies have revealed a significant correlation between the degree of immune response in immunotherapy and the tumor microenvironment, particularly with regard to tumor-infiltrating immune cells.

The risk of fracture varies greatly across racial groups and geographic regions, and systematically organized evidence on the potential predictors for fracture risk is needed for Chinese. This review briefly introduces the epidemiology of OF and expands on the predictors and predictive tools for the risk of OF, as well as the challenges for their potential translation in the old Chinese population.
