In the context of global demand for carbon reduction, the formation of inorganic carbon (IC) in the wastewater from oil flooding becomes a potential threat. In this study, sp. and sp.

However, both the traditional suspended algae and the immobilized algae cathode systems have the problems of high cost caused by Pt catalyst and ion-exchange membrane. In this work, a new equipment for membrane-free PMFC is reported based on the optimization of the most expensive MFC components: the separator and the cathode.

The feasibility of using revolving algae biofilm (RAB) reactors to treat PAM-contaminated wastewater for simultaneous removal of carbon and nitrogen was evaluated. The presence or absence of external nitrogen sources had a significant impact on the treatment effect of the RAB system.

A microbial desalination cell (MDC) could desalinate salt water without energy consumption and simultaneously generate bioenergy. Compared with an abiotic cathode MDC, an aerobic bio-cathode MDC is more sustainable and is less expensive to operate. In this study, the long-term operation (5500 h) performance of a bio-cathode MDC was investigated in which the power density, Coulombic efficiency, and salt removal rate were decreased by 71, 44, and 27 %, respectively.

To measure the emission of Hg from PVC production, we established a flowchart for the calcium carbide process, for which we quantified the Hg content of the material/product at each step. Results indicated that 71.
