Background: Cadmium (Cd) is a very poisonous pollutant in the environment that has harmful implications on the neurological system. While high fiber intake is beneficial for mental health, it remains unknown whether the recommended basis for dietary fiber intake (DFI) (14 g/1000 kcal per day) can alleviate Cd-induced depression.
Methods: The investigation employed data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) conducted between the years 2005 and 2020.
Background: The association between the triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index and its combination with obesity indictors in aortic aneurysm and dissection (AAD) remains unclear. We aimed to investigate the association between TyG and TyG-body mass index (TyG-BMI), TyG-waist circumference (TyG-WC), TyG-waist height ratio (TyG-WHtR) and AAD risk.
Methods: This study included 387,483 baseline participants from the UK Biobank with complete data on TyG, TyG-BMI, TyG-WC and TyG-WHtR.
Dihydroartemisinin (DHA), a compound extracted from the herbal medicine Artemisia annua, has shown promise as a clinical treatment strategy for colorectal cancer. However, its clinical use is hindered by its low water solubility and bioavailability. A pH/glutathione (GSH) dual-responsive nano-herb delivery system (PMDC NPs) has been developed for the targeted delivery of DHA, accompanied by abundant carbon monoxide (CO) release.

Little is known about how these women perceive the condition and the associated long-term risks.
Objectives: This study aims to examine and synthesize qualitative evidence on the perceptions and awareness of women with hypertensive disorders of pregnancy following perceived cardiovascular disease risk.
Evidence regarding the role of chronic low-grade inflammation in the progression of cardiometabolic diseases (CMDs) and cardiometabolic multimorbidity (CMM) is currently limited. This prospective cohort study, utilising data from the UK Biobank, included 273,804 adults aged 40-69 years initially free of CMD at baseline. CMM was defined as the coexistence of two or more CMDs, such as coronary artery disease, type 2 diabetes mellitus, hypertension and stroke.

The cardiometabolic index (CMI) is a new metric that combines abdominal obesity and lipid levels. Studies have shown that the prevalence of lipid metabolism disorders is greater among COPD patients and that the CMI can help reveal the potential role of lipid metabolism in disease progression by assessing the body's metabolic status; however, the association between the CMI and COPD is not known.

Methods: A prospective cohort study was conducted, involving 126,818 participants without pre-existing T2DM from the UK Biobank. CVH was assessed using the Life's Essential 8.
: The Mediterranean-DASH Intervention for Neurodegenerative Delay (MIND) diet is emerging as a promising candidate for preventive measures against inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), though there is currently no direct evidence from population-based studies. This study aims to bridge the gap in understanding of the association of the MIND diet with IBD risk. : We utilized data from 187 490 participants in the UK Biobank who provided dietary information and were free of IBD at baseline.

Triglyceride glucose (TyG) index and triglyceride glucose-body mass index (TyG-BMI) are recognised as convenient proxies for IR. However, their relationship with sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) remains unclear.

XZTZ significantly alleviated alcohol-induced liver dysfunction, based on histological examinations and biochemical parameters after 4-week administration. Mechanically, alcohol-stimulated hepatic oxidative stress was ameliorated by XZTZ, accompanied by the improvement of Nrf2/Keap1 expression and alcohol-activated phosphorylation of pro-inflammatory transcription factors, including JNK, P38, P65, and IκBα, were rescued by XZTZ.

The association between serum vitamin D levels and the risk of bowel resection in individuals with IBD remains largely unknown.
Materials And Methods: The authors performed a longitudinal cohort study among 5474 individuals with IBD in the UK Biobank.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to explore the experience of financial toxicity among caregivers of cancer patients and to provide recommendations for subsequent intervention strategies.
Methods: Computer searches of PubMed, EmBase, The Cochrane Library, Web of Science, CINAHL (EBSCO), CNKI, Wanfang database, and SinoMed for qualitative studies experience of financial toxicity among caregivers cancer patients. The search time frame was from the establishment of the database to May 2023.
Objective: Critical illness survivors frequently experience various degrees of depressive symptoms, which hinder their recovery and return to daily life. However, substantial variability in the prevalence of depressive symptoms has been reported among critical illness survivors. The exact prevalence remains uncertain.

In addition to the classical drug efflux transporter-mediated chemoresistance, cancer cells with stemness features play a crucial role in escaping the maximum impact of chemotherapy. To sensitize cancer chemotherapy, in a novel approach, the hedgehog pathway inhibitor ellagic acid (EA) is coordinated with Cu to develop nanoscale metal-organic frameworks (EA-Cu), which are then loaded with doxorubicin (DOX) and modified with targeted chondroitin sulfate (CS) to form the CS/E-C@DOX nanoplatform (CS/NPs).

The relationship between the gut microbiome and metabolites in NAFLD is gaining attention understanding the pathogenesis and progression of dysregulated lipid metabolism and inflammation. The Xie Zhuo Tiao Zhi (XZTZ) decoction has been employed in clinical practice for alleviating hyperlipidemia and symptoms related to metabolic disorders.
