We report a case of a 33-year-old male who presented to the emergency department with a three-day history of severe diffuse abdominal pain associated with anorexia, nausea, and vomiting. Computed tomography (CT) imaging of the abdomen and pelvis revealed a long segment of intussusception in the proximal jejunum and a round lesion along the intussusception with punctate hyperdensities. The patient underwent a diagnostic laparoscopy converted to open small bowel resection and end-to-end anastomosis that demonstrated a pedunculated jejunal mass.

The cure rates of () treatment using a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) are gradually decreasing due to antibiotic resistance, poor compliance, high gastric acidity, and cytochrome P450 2C19 (CYP2C19) polymorphism, and the effects of PPI depend on metabolic enzymes, cytochrome P450 enzymes. The aim of this meta-analysis was to determine whether CYP2C19 polymorphisms affect cure rates in patients treated with different proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) according to stratified analysis. Background According to the Nationwide Inpatient Sample in 2011, nearly 1,500,000 admissions with over 300,000 laparotomies were performed for adhesion-related small bowel obstructions (SBOs). A selective effect of motor expertise on mental rotation is revealed by a high correlation between the performance of sports experts and ability on a mental rotation task. Evidence is shown by studies involving a spatial factor, such as image interference or a movement constraint. It is well established that motor expertise is linked to superior mental rotation ability, but few studies have attempted to explain the factors that influence the stages of mental rotation in sport experts. Some authors have argued that athletes are faster in the perceptual and decision stages but not in the rotation stages of object-based transformations; however, stimuli related to sport have not been used to test mental rotation with egocentric transformations. The safety and efficacy of the JXA1-R vaccine, an attenuated strain of highly pathogenic porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (HP-PRRSV), were examined using an intramuscular challenge model in piglets. The JXA1-R vaccine was obtained by passing HP-PRRSV JXA1 through Marc-145 cells (82nd passage). Genomic sequence comparisons showed that strain JXA1-R and its parental strain, JXA1, differ by 47 amino acids, and most of these differences are scattered throughout the PRRSV genome.
