Hydrogels have shown great potential for application in food science due to their diverse functionalities. However, most hydrogels inevitably contain toxic chemical cross-linking agent residues, posing serious food safety concerns. In this paper, a curcumin/sodium alginate/carboxymethyl chitosan hydrogels (CSCH) were prepared by self-assembly of two oppositely charged polysaccharides, carboxymethyl chitosan and sodium alginate, to form a three-dimensional network encapsulating curcumin for extending food shelf life.

Molten MgCl-based chlorides have emerged as potential thermal storage and heat transfer materials due to high thermal stabilities and lower costs. In this work, deep potential molecular dynamics (DPMD) simulations by a method combination of the first principle, classical molecular dynamics, and machine learning are performed to systemically study the relationships of structures and thermophysical properties of molten MgCl-NaCl (MN) and MgCl-KCl (MK) eutectic salts at the temperature range of 800-1000 K. The densities, radial distribution functions, coordination numbers, potential mean forces, specific heat capacities, viscosities, and thermal conductivities of these two chlorides are successfully reproduced under extended temperatures by DPMD with a larger size (5.

The fluorine-containing microporous membranes of the mainstream functional products easily cause harm to the environment, and thus, the fluorine-free environmental nanofibrous membranes are an important development direction for functional membranes. In this subject, the electrospun polyacrylonitrile nanofibrous membranes were first hydrophobically modified by amino functional modified polysiloxane (AMP), followed by in situ cross-linking modified with 4, 4'-methyl diphenylene diisocyanate (MDI).

To explore the corrosion behavior at high temperature, the corrosion test of 316SS was performed in liquid lead at a high temperature of 650 °C under Ar with oxygen levels of 10 wt% and 10 wt% by the static corrosion method. The mass changes after corrosion were determined; then, the corrosion depth and the oxide product formed were further characterized.

Herein, a novel strategy for the modification of VCT through molten salt thermal treatment is proposed. In the novel route, S heteroatoms were introduced into VCT through a substitution reaction during the dissolution of LiS in LiCl-KCl molten salts.

At present, the contact method is mainly used to detect α particles, but its shortcomings limit the broad application of this method. In recent years, preliminary research on noncontact α-particle detection methods has been carried out.

Lowering the calcination temperature gives the ability to resist the growth and agglomeration of nanoparticles, therefore contributing to preserve their unique nanostructures and properties. In this work, we prepared crystalline LaFeO nanoparticles with a calcination process at 500 °C, lower than the calcination temperature required in most wet chemistry methods.

Methods: In this birth cohort study, 1019 pregnant women with moderate preterm birth and 9160 women with term birth were recruited at Gansu Provincial Maternity and Child Care Hospital from 2010-2012 in China. Unconditional logistic regression models were utilized to evaluate the association between maternal iron supplementation, dietary iron intake, and the risk of moderate preterm birth and its subtypes.

Silicate-carbonate mixtures as new CO2 capture agents have the latent application potential. CO2 sorption or desorption processes using the Na4SiO4-Na2CO3 mixture sorbent in air were analyzed by in situ Raman spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction from 25 °C to 900 °C. The results show that the Na4SiO4-Na2CO3 mixture sorbent could continuously absorb and strip CO2 by thermal swinging.

Studies on residential mobility during pregnancy are needed in various populations to aid studies of the environmental exposure and birth outcomes. However, there is still a lack of studies investigating residential mobility patterns in Asian populations.

No study has been conducted in areas with very high air pollution levels. We investigated the hypothesis that exposure to high levels of particulate matter with aerodynamic diameter no larger than 10 µm (PM10) during pregnancy increases the risk of abnormal fetal growth.
