Article Synopsis
  • Pneumonia, particularly caused by Mycoplasma pneumoniae, is a critical health issue in children, leading to significant global mortality rates.
  • The research aimed to investigate the potential therapeutic effects of geraniol on pneumonia in infected mice, focusing on how it affects inflammation and lung function.
  • Results showed that geraniol treatment reduced lung damage, inflammation markers, and bacterial DNA loads, suggesting its promise as a treatment for pneumonia caused by Mycoplasma pneumoniae.

Aconitine is the main effective component of traditional Chinese medicine , which has been proved to have severe cardiovascular toxicity. The toxic effect of aconitine on cardiomyocytes is related to intracellular calcium overload, but the mechanism remains unclear. The aim of this study was to explore the mechanism of aconitine inducing intracellular Ca overload and promoting H9c2 cardiomyocyte apoptosis through transient receptor potential cation channel subfamily V member 2 (TRPV2).

Acute kidney injury (AKI), one of the frequently diagnosed and serious sepsis induced complication has high morbidity and mortality. The present study investigated the effect of cynaropicrin on AKI induced pathological damage in rat model in vivo. Treatment with cynaropicrin suppressed AKI induced urea nitrogen and creatinine in the rat serum in dose-dependent manner.

Introduction: Acute lung injury (ALI), a commonly detected syndrome, is characterized by the accumulation of neutrophils and leucocytes, and inflammation of pulmonary tissues.

Objective: The present study was designed to investigate the effect and underlying mechanism of colchicine on LPS-induced lung injury.

Methods: The rats were divided randomly into 6 groups of 10 each: normal control, untreated, and 4 colchicine (5, 10, 15, and 20 mg/kg) treatment groups.
