The identification of fragrant rice varieties using near-infrared reflectance spectroscopy (NIRS) models has attracted extensive attention from regulatory authorities worldwide. In this study, 138 fragrant and 54 nonfragrant rice varieties were planted in the same region and distinguished using sensory evaluation, gas chromatography-mass spectrometry analysis, and betaine aldehyde dehydrogenase 2 (Badh2) genotyping. Then, the 2-acetyl-1-pyrroline (2-AP) content was assessed based on partial least-squares discriminant (PLS-DA) models generated after 2nd individually or combined with SNV/MSC/smoothing preprocessing successfully classified fragrant rice both in the calibration and predictive sets.

The present study aimed to explore the targets and mechanism of Mailuo Shutong Pills(MSP) in the treatment of ischemic stroke by network pharmacology, and verify the key targets through molecular docking and animal experiment, so as to provide a theoretical basis for the clinical application of MSP. The main chemical ingredients of MSP were obtained by searching against the Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology Database and Analysis Platform(TCMSP) and relevant literature. The potential targets of the ingredients of MSP in treating ischemic stroke were obtained from SwissTargetPrediction and DisGeNET.

Rice starch properties of apparent amylose content (AAC), amylose content (AC), and amylopectin content (AP) are considered as the most important factors influencing grain quality as they are highly correlated with eating quality. This report is the first effort of predicting AC and AP values in rice flours, and recognizing waxy rice from non-waxy rice using NIRS technique. Calibration models generated by different mathematical, preprocessing treatments and combinations of wavelengths and signals were compared and optimized.

In rice, the contents of protein and amino acids are the major parameters of nutritional quality. Co-localization of quantitative trait loci (QTLs) for heading date and protein content were reported, but pleiotropism of heading-date genes on protein contents has not been investigated. Here, we reported that rice florigen gene plays an important role in controlling amino acid contents of rice grain.

The seroprevalence of Toxoplasma gondii in beef cattle and dairy cattle in Heilongjiang Province, northeast China, was surveyed between April 2009 and May 2011. A total of 1803 (693 beef cattle and 1110 dairy cattle) serum samples were collected from 10 administrative regions rearing beef cattle and dairy cattle, and antibodies to T. gondii were examined by indirect hemagglutination (IHA) test.

Objective: To investigate the molecular genetic features and diagnostic aspects of sporadic Burkitt's lymphoma (BL) in children.

Methods: Tissue microarray was constructed to include 64 cases of pediatric BL and 6 cases of pediatric diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). Immunohistochemistry and fluorescence in-situ hybridization for c-myc, bcl-2, bcl-6, IgH, myc/IgH and bcl-2/IgH gene were performed.

Objective: To study the clinicopathologic features, immunohistochemical findings, EBV and c-myc gene status of intra-abdominal non-Hodgkin B-cell lymphoma occurring in children.

Methods: Seventy-four cases of pediatric intra-abdominal non-Hodgkin B-cell lymphoma were retrieved from the archival file. The cases were classified according to the 2008 WHO classification.

Objective: To study the clinicopathologic features and biologic behavior of pediatric immature teratoma.

Methods: The clinical data, pathologic features, immunohistochemical findings (for cyclin D1, P27 and Ki-67) and follow-up information of 39 cases of pediatric immature teratoma were analyzed.

Results: Amongst the 39 cases studied, 12 arose in the sacrococcygeal region, 12 in testis, 5 in retroperitoneum, 4 in ovary, 4 in abdomen and 2 in mediastinum.
