Background: Transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation (taVNS) is effective for treating major depressive disorder (MDD). We aimed to explore the modulating effect of prolonged longitudinal taVNS on the striatal subregions' functional connectivity (FC) in MDD patients.
Methods: Sixteen MDD patients were enrolled and treated with taVNS for 8 weeks.

Objective: To quantify the images of the microtubules in fetal rat cardiac myocytes under simulated microgravity by utilizing the characteristic parameters of image gray, and to study their morphological change.
Method: Gray characteristic of the microtubules in fetal rat cardiac myocytes was quantified in both simulated microgravity and control conditions by variance, skewness, and kurtosis.
Result: From feature analysis of 24 images, the characteristic parameters selected here were proved to be effective.

Objective: The paper applies the fractal dimension to heart rate variability (HRV), and discusses the changes of the fractal dimension of cardiovascular system during head down tilt (HDT).
Method: ECG of 10 subjects were recorded during HDT, the experiment was repeated in each subject. Fractal dimension was used to analyze the HRV.

The analysis of Heart Rate Variability (HRV), as a noninvasive method in detecting function hearts has been applied widely and is a hot spot for ECG signal processing for its capability to assess function of autonomic nervous system and intrinsic dynamic mechanism of heart quantitatively, and to explain and predict the heart movements. In the present, the method of analysis of HRV signal mainly lies in linear analysis and nonlinear analysis. Research progress of several methods of HRV analysis is presented.
