Background: Chronic active Esptein-Barr virus (CAEBV) enteritis if rarely observed in immunocompetent patients and can be often misdiagnosed as inflammatory bowel disease.
Case: We hereby present a case of CAEBV enteritis diagnosed with double-balloon enteroscopy and EBER in-situ hybridization.
Conclusion: This case demonstrates the clinical presentation and diagnosis of CAEBV enteritis and highlights the importance of early recognition of the disease.
Objective: Cholestyramine (CHO), as a bile acid sequestering exchange resin, has been widely used to treat hypercholesterolemia. The aim of this study was to explore how CHO regulated serum cholesterol amounts and bile acid levels in animal models.
Methods: New Zealand White rabbits were randomly assigned to the control (given distilled water) and CHO-treated (given CHO solution 1 g/kg per day for 2 weeks) groups.
Anthracyclines are antitumor antibiotics with significant activity against solid and hematologic malignancies. One problem preventing more widespread use has been the development of cardiotoxicity. To determine whether antioxidant agents can reduce the cardiotoxicity of anthracyclines, a herb Astragalus membranaceus was introduced, which has been widely used for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases in China and was confirmed to be an effective antioxidant agent recently.

Methods: Cell morphology, cells viability, and cell apoptosis (Annexin-V by flow cytometry assay) were analysed.
Results: After incubation with DNR plus Ara-C for 24 hours,NB4 cell viability [(36.
