Background: Lynch syndrome (LS) is an autosomal dominant inherited disorder caused by mutations in mismatch repair genes. Genetic counseling is crucial for the prevention and treatment of LS, as individuals with these mutations have an increased lifetime risk of developing multiple cancers. MutS Homolog 2 () is a protein-coding gene that plays a key role in LS.

Background: Upper gastrointestinal bleeding (UGIB) is a common medical emergency and early assessment of its outcomes is vital for treatment decisions.
Aim: To develop a new scoring system to predict its prognosis.
Methods: In this retrospective study, 692 patients with UGIB were enrolled from two centers and divided into a training ( = 591) and a validation cohort ( = 101).
Purpose: The rapid global spread of the SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant introduces a novel complication: the emergence of IBD (inflammatory bowel disease)-like ulcers in certain patients. This research delves into this new challenge by juxtaposing the clinical manifestations and genetic expression patterns of individuals affected by the Omicron variant of COVID-19 with those diagnosed with IBD. It aims to decode the link between these conditions, potentially shedding light on previously unexplored facets of COVID-19 pathophysiology.

A SiC double-trench MOSFET embedded with a lower-barrier diode and an L-shaped gate-source in the gate trench, showing improved reverse conduction and an improved switching performance, was proposed and studied with 2-D simulations. Compared with a double-trench MOSFET (DT-MOS) and a DT-MOS with a channel-MOS diode (DTC-MOS), the proposed MOS showed a lower voltage drop () at = 100 A/cm, which can prevent bipolar degradation at the same blocking voltage (BV) and decrease the maximum oxide electric field (). Additionally, the gate-drain capacitance () and gate-drain charge () of the proposed MOSFET decreased significantly because the source extended to the bottom of the gate, and the overlap between the gate electrode and drain electrode decreased.

Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have become increasingly prominent in cell therapy. Human umbilical cord MSCs (hUC-MSCs) are considered superior to other MSCs due to their strong immunomodulatory ability, ease of collection, low immune rejection, and no tumorigenicity.

Patients And Methods: The efficacy of PARPi was evaluated by progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) in this real-world single-center retrospective cohort study conducted at West China Second University Hospital. The safety of PARPi was assessed using Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events Version 5.
Objectives: Although portal vein thrombosis (PVT) was thought to deteriorate portal hypertension and contribute to poor prognosis, risk stratification remains unclear. This study aimed to evaluate its effect on the risk of variceal rehemorrhage and to develop a competitive risk model in cirrhotic patients with PVT.
Methods: Cirrhotic patients with and without PVT admitted for acute variceal hemorrhage were retrospectively included after matching (1:1) for age, gender and etiology of cirrhosis from two tertiary centers with 1-year follow-up.
Chemokines secreted by dendritic cells (DCs) play a key role in the regulation of inflammation and autoimmunity through chemokine receptors. However, the role of chemokine receptor CXCR1 in inflammation-inducing experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) remains largely enigmatic. Here we reported that compared with healthy controls, the level of CXCR1 was aberrantly increased in multiple sclerosis (MS) patients.

Background: Patients with gynecologic cancers experience side effects of chemotherapy cardiotoxicity. We aimed to quantify cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) markers of myocardial fibrosis in patients with gynecologic cancer and low cardiovascular risk who undergo chemotherapy.
Methods: This study is part of a registered clinical research.
Background: Most endometrial cancers are of low histological grade and uterine-confined, with a high 5-year survival rate. However, a small subset of women with low-grade and early-stage endometrioid endometrial cancer experience recurrence and death; thus, a more precise risk-stratification is needed.
Case Presentation: A 29-year-old woman presented with abnormal vaginal bleeding and was diagnosed with FIGO grade 1 endometrioid endometrial carcinoma by curettage.
Background: Gastroesophageal reflux symptom (GERS) occur frequently in obese patients. Although some surgeons avoid laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) in these patients for fear of postoperative exacerbation of GERS, this notion is not supported by sufficient medical evidence.
Objectives: This prospective study aimed to evaluate the impact of LSG on GERS.
