Importance: With advancements in robotic surgery, robotic-assisted thyroidectomy is gaining popularity. The introduction of the 3-port transoral robotic thyroidectomy (T-TORT) offers an alternative approach with potential benefits in postoperative recovery compared to traditional methods.
Objective: To assess the safety and feasibility of T-TORT in comparison to the transoral endoscopic thyroidectomy vestibular approach (TOETVA).

Background: Injury to the recurrent laryngeal nerve (RLN) and parathyroid glands (PGs) are the most common and serious complications during the transoral endoscopic thyroidectomy vestibular approach (TOETVA), and their exposure and protection are the most important factors affecting the operation time. Here, we report a novel anatomical landmark and surgical method to shorten the operative time and reduce the chance of injury to the RLN and PGs.
Methods: According to the different exposure methods of the RLN, patients were divided into the experimental group (from top to bottom, E-group) and the comparison group (from outside to inside, C-group), and 1:1 propensity score-matching (PSM) was performed.
Dissolved organic matter (DOM) in natural waters can regulate the behaviors and fates of aquatic contaminants, while the specific effects on contaminant attenuation are highly dependent on its inherent properties [e.g., molecular weights (MW) and types].
View Article and Find Full Text PDFO3-NaNiFeMnO has attracted much attention as a cathode for sodium-ion batteries, because of its low cost and high sodium-ion storage capacity. However, its slow Na diffusion kinetics and harmful P3-O3' phase transition with severe bulk strain at high voltage leads to poor rate capability and fast capacity fading. Herein, we propose a multivariate doping strategy with Cu, Mg, and Ti ions to solve the above problems of the O3-NaNiFeMnO cathode.

However, the poor mechanical performance and wet stability restrict their applications. Herein, we fabricated PVA/lignocellulose/PBAT (PVA/CLM/PBAT) composite with a "sandwich" structure.

We analyzed the sediment characteristics, microbial community structures, and nutrient cycling across three habitats: mangrove forests, seagrass beds, and bare beaches. The physicochemical properties (including pH, total nitrogen (TN), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K)) of the sediment samples were analyzed, and the microbial diversity was assessed using high-throughput sequencing.

Therefore, based on cerebral collateral recycle (CCR) status, we aimed to establish an effective scoring system to identify the probability of FR.
Methods: This was a multicenter retrospective cohort study.
Increasing the Ni content in Ni-rich cathodes to over 90% can further enhance the energy density and reduce costs. However, this aggravates the issue of lattice oxygen release due to the instability of the layered structure. In this work, an entropy-stabilized surface strategy is used to process ultrahigh nickel cathode LiNiCoMnO (NCM).

Using an engineered to produce lipase and can easily achieve high-level expression. The investigation of biochemical processes during lipase fermentation, approached from a metabolomics perspective, will yield novel insights into the efficient secretion of recombinant proteins. In this study, the lipase batch fermentation was carried out first with enzyme activity of 36.

Methods: Clinical data of 12 children with severe sepsis admitted to the pediatric intensive care unit of our hospital between October 2021 and June 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. All patients were treated with integrated blood purification, and changes in haemodynamic parameters, including heart rate, blood pressure, mean arterial pressure and cardiac output, and oxygen metabolism parameters (blood lactic acid, oxygen delivery, oxygen consumption and oxygen extraction rate) were observed before and after treatment.
Key message A major quantitative trait locus (qGW12) for grain shape and weight has been isolated in rice, corresponding to LOC_Os12g17900/OsPUB23, and its encoded protein interacts with OsMADS1. Grain shape in rice is an important trait that influences both yield and quality. The primary determinants of grain shape are quantitative trait loci (QTLs) inherited from natural variation in crops.

However, conventional heterogeneous Pd catalysts often encounter challenges such as leaching and deactivation during reactions, leading to reduced catalytic efficiency. In this study, we employed an innovative intercalation templating strategy to prepare two-dimensional carbon nanosheets with high nitrogen doping derived from petroleum asphalt, which were utilized as a versatile support for immobilizing Pd nanoparticles (Pd/N-CNS) in efficient Suzuki cross-coupling reactions.

The reaction of these ligands with copper(II) nitrate led to complexes 1-10. The characterization of 1-10 was carried out by means of mass spectrometry, elemental analysis, infrared spectroscopy and X-ray single crystal diffraction.

Purpose: To establish a fully automated deep learning-enabled model (FADLM) for automated tumor segmentation and cervical LNM prediction in PTC using ultrasound (US) video keyframes.
Methods: The bicentral study retrospective enrolled 518 PTC patients, who were then randomly divided into the training (Hospital 1, n = 340), internal test (Hospital 1, n = 83), and external test cohorts (Hospital 2, n = 95).
Rationale: In this case, the tumor cells were epithelioid, with translucent cytoplasm, well-defined cell borders, moderate size, rounded or ovoid nuclei, and small nucleoli visible. Based on this morphological feature, we first considered clear cell carcinoma, but the epithelial-related immunohistochemical results don't support the diagnosis. Ultimately, based on lymphoma-associated immunohistochemical results and gene rearrangement assays, the final diagnosis of a clear cell variant of DLBCL.

However, solvatochromic fluorogens often displayed a weak emission at high polarity, hindering their bioimaging applications. To resolve this problem, herein, we propose an intramolecular charge transfer (ICT) inhibition strategy.

Methods: A cohort of 320 cardiac surgery patients was selected, categorized into two groups: 93 cases where postoperative delirium (POD) was anticipated, and 227 cases where it was not. Preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative factors of POD were scrutinized using single-factor analysis, while binary logistic regression analysis was employed to pinpoint risk factors.
Detecting small objects in images poses significant challenges due to their limited pixel representation and the difficulty in extracting sufficient features, often leading to missed or false detections. To address these challenges and enhance detection accuracy, this paper presents an improved small object detection algorithm, CRL-YOLOv5. The proposed approach integrates the Convolutional Block Attention Module (CBAM) attention mechanism into the C3 module of the backbone network, which enhances the localization accuracy of small objects.
