Background: Baicalin has been shown to possess various pharmacological actions, a recent study revealed that baicalin can attenuate pulmonary hypertension and pulmonary vascular remodeling through the inhibition of pulmonary artery smooth muscle cell proliferation, however, the potential mechanism remains unexplored. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of bone marrow‑derived mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) in the treatment of lung injury in a mouse model of bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) and examine the underlying mechanisms.
