The tRNA-derived fragments (tRFs) are a new class of regulatory noncoding RNAs and have different biological functions in cancer. This article investigated the expression and clinicopathological significance of tRF-Glu-TTC-2 in prostate carcinoma (PCa), and its effect on tumor growth. Expression profiles of tRFs and tiRNAs were analyzed by tRF and tiRNAs microarray in PCa samples, and then the expression was confirmed by qRT-PCR; RNA in situ hybridization was used to detect the positive expression of tRF-Glu-TTC-2 and to analyze the correlation between the expression level of tRF-Glu-TTC-2 and clinicopathological parameters.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFDJ‑1, an oncogene, has been reported to be an independent prognostic indicator of poor survival in patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). The aim of the present study was to investigate the role of DJ‑1 in tumor cell proliferation and invasion in ESCC and its underlying mechanisms. It was observed that the expression level of DJ‑1 was upregulated and positively associated with EMT biomarkers in 84 human ESCC tissue specimens.

Zinc finger protein A20 is a negative feedback regulatory protein of NF-κB activity. The aim of this study was to evaluate zinc finger protein A20 can alleviate PAH in hypoxia exposed mice.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAidi injection, a proprietary Chinese medicine, has been widely used for the treatment of cancer. However, its effects and potential mechanism in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) have not yet been characterized. The aim of the present study was to identify the mechanism underlying the anti‑metastatic effects of treatment with Aidi.

Previous studies showed that TUCRs serve as oncogenes or tumor suppressor genes are involved in tumorigenesis and cancer progressive. However, little is known about the expression level and biological role of TUCR.
