Post-stroke Dysarthria (PSD) is one of the common sequelae of stroke. PSD can harm patients' quality of life and, in severe cases, be life-threatening. Article Synopsis
  • Maternal inflammation is linked to autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation (taVNS) has shown potential in boosting social skills in mouse models of ASD induced by maternal immune activation.
  • Experiments involved creating an ASD mouse model through an injection of poly(I:C), followed by various tests to assess the effects of taVNS and analyze behavioral and biochemical changes.
  • Results indicated that taVNS reduces anxiety and improves social behavior by decreasing microglia and the inflammatory protein IL-17a, highlighting reduced neuroinflammation as a key factor for the observed improvements in social function and brain protection against autism.

It is a challenge for conventional monocular-camera single-light source eye-tracking methods to achieve high-speed eye tracking. In this work, a dual-ring infrared lighting source was designed to achieve bright and dark pupils in high speed. The eye-tracking method used a dual-ring infrared lighting source and synchronized triggers for the even and odd camera frames to capture bright and dark pupils.

Uranium accumulation in the kidneys and bones following internal contamination results in severe damage, emphasizing the pressing need for the discovery of actinide decorporation agents with efficient removal of uranium and low toxicity. In this work, cinnamic acid (3-phenyl-2-propenoic acid, CD), a natural aromatic carboxylic acid, is investigated as a potential uranium decorporation ligand. CD demonstrates markedly lower cytotoxicity than that of diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid (DTPA), an actinide decorporation agent approved by the FDA, and effectively removes approximately 44.
