Vibration induced damage to the peripheral circulatory system is thought to be an early stage of hand-arm vibration syndrome (HAVS) caused by occupational exposure to hand-transmitted vibration (HTV). This study investigated the mechanisms underlying vibration-induced vascular injury, focusing on the role of Piezo1, a mechanosensitive channel, and its association with the NF-κB/p65 signaling pathway. We demonstrated that vibration exposure leads to Piezo1-mediated upregulation of angiogenic chemokines, including CCL2, CCL5, CXCL1, CXCL2, and CXCL10, through the NF-κB/p65 pathway.

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) serve a crucial role in numerous biological processes, such as acute pancreatitis development. Due to its low abundance and high similarity among homogeneous family members, sensitive and reliable detection of microRNA remains a formidable challenge. By combining the three-way junction-assisted rolling circle amplification (RCA) with the trans-cleavage of Cas12a, we propose a novel fluorescent technique for sensitive miRNA detection.

Due to biological heterogeneity, lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) patients with the same stage may exhibit variable responses to immunotherapy and a wide range of outcomes. It is urgent to seek a biomarker that can predict the prognosis and response to immunotherapy in these patients. In this study, we identified two genes (ANLN and ARNTL2) from multiple gene expression data sets, and developed a two-mRNA-based signature that can effectively distinguish high- and low-risk patients and predict patients' response to immunotherapy.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to assess how various tumor characteristics influence the prognosis of liver transplantation in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
  • A retrospective analysis of 251 patients revealed that factors like macroscopic vascular invasion, microscopic tumor thrombosis, and satellite nodules significantly impact survival outcomes, while pre-operative treatments did not affect prognosis.
  • The findings suggest that higher Edmondson grades, significant tumor factors, and AFP levels above 300 µg/L indicate poorer survival chances, advising against liver transplantation in patients with vascular invasion or lymph node spread.
