Introducing the exploration of stimulated CD4 cells adenosine triphosphate (sATP) levels for immune monitoring post non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) chemotherapy, the present study aimed to investigate its efficacy in gauging the potential risk of disease progression (PD) in patients with NSCLC. Therefore, a total of 89 patients with advanced NSCLC, who underwent chemotherapy between August 15 2022 and August 30 2023 at the Fifth Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University (Guangzhou, China), were retrospectively studied. Patients were divided into the PD (n=21) and disease stability (non-PD; n=68) groups and their clinical data were compared.

Article Synopsis
  • The study explores secondary metabolites from the endophytic fungus sp. HK-08, which was sourced from plant leaves.
  • Various chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques were employed to isolate and identify four new indole derivatives from the fungus.
  • One of the identified compounds exhibited weak inhibitory activity against acetylcholinesterase (AChE), suggesting potential but limited medicinal uses.

Objective: Lung cancer with the highest incidence and mortality in the world. Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs), can bring long-term survival benefits to patients, but also can bring immune-related adverse events (irAEs) in some patients during therapy. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the predictive effect of peripheral blood WBC, NLR, sATP and nATP on irAEs in advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

(Hemiptera: Aphididae) is an important pest affecting various crops worldwide. However, only few studies have been conducted on the infection of by and related insecticidal mechanisms. We investigated the infection process of by HK-1 using fluorescence microscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and our results indicated that the conidia of strain HK-1 easily attached to the feet and dorsum of .

A couple of new cycloheximide epimers, 13(α)-acetoxy-anhydroisoheximide () and 13(β)-acetoxy-anhydroisoheximide (), together with six known compounds (38), were obtained from the cultures of Streptomyces sp. YG7. The structures were elucidated based on a comprehensive spectroscopic data analysis including 1D and 2D NMR, as well as HRESIMS, and by comparison with the literature.

Aechmea fasciata is a bromeliad that is propagated by tissue culture as an ornamental plant. A high percentage (25 to 55%) of 1- to 5-month-old seedlings were found decayed in nursery gardens that have been established in recent years in Hainan Province, People's Republic of China. There were two types of symptoms: (i) in yellow rot, the decay appears first in the new leaf apex as a water-soaked, yellow lesion, and the lesion spreads from the leaf apex to the leaf base until the whole leaf becomes water soaked and yellow; and (ii) in brown rot, decay occurs first at the base of older leaves.
