Two-dimensional (2D) nanomaterials have garnered extensive attention owing to their unique properties and versatile application. Here, a family of 2D rare-earth metal phosphides (MP, M = Sc, Y, La) and their derivatives MPOT (T = F, OH) is developed to find their topological and electronic properties on the basis of density functional theory simulations. We show that the 2D MP compounds are most possibly obtained from thermodynamically stable MInP by chemical exfoliation.

Liver metastasis is the major cause of death in colorectal cancer (CRC) due to the lack of effective treatment. To explore novel drivers of CRC liver metastasis, the transcriptomes of primary paracancerous, colorectal tumors and metastases from human patients are profiled. It is found that SLIT- and NTRK-like family member 4 (SLITRK4) is the top upregulated gene in liver metastases and is associated with worse overall survival of CRC patients.

The reasons why seed set is so low remains unclear. We studied a rhizomatous grass (Leymus chinensis) using C tracing the different photosynthetic organs to investigate carbon fixation and allocation during the seed-filling stage.

Active integrin β1 plays a pivotal role in promoting EndMT by facilitating TGFβ/Smad signaling in endothelial cells. Here, we report a novel anthraquinone compound, Kanglexin (KLX), which prevented EndMT and atherosclerosis by activating MAP4K4 and suppressing integrin β1/TGFβ signaling.

Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay indicated that ERBB4 levels in the serum of patients with pulmonary embolism (PE) were significantly higher than those of healthy controls ( < 0.05).

To address this issue, a series of chemical cross-linked cellulose-based intelligent responsive hydrogels were synthesized by free-radical graft copolymerization in a hydrothermal process. This strategy allows for the creation of a chemical cross-linked three-dimensional structure that anchors photochromic ammonium molybdate and fluorescent carbon dots together, resulting in enhanced stability and mechanical properties.

However, experimental realization of defect-free i-MBenes has not been achieved yet due to the absence of a suitable parent quaternary h-MAB phase. In this study, a machine learning (ML) model is used to predict the stability of 15771 quaternary h-MAB phases generated by considering 33 transition metals for the M site and 16 p-block elements for the A site.

Therefore, this study investigated how the sulfur autotrophic denitrification (SAD) system responded to the single and joint stress of PVC MPs (1, 10 and 100 mg/L) and BAC (0.5, 5 and 10 mg/L).

Previous research on elastomers focused mainly on the design of new chemical structures, but their complicated synthesis process and expensive monomers have restricted the practical application of these materials. Inspired by general filler effects, a strategy is proposed to remarkably enhance the mechanical properties of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) elastomers by designing the arrangement of hard/soft segments using traditional chemical compositions.

This study investigated the effects of co-exposure to zinc (1 mg/L) and DADMAC (0.2-5 mg/L) on the performance, bacterial community, and resistance genes (RGs) in a partial sulfur autotrophic denitrification coupled with anaerobic ammonium oxidation (PSAD-Anammox) system in a sequencing batch moving bed biofilm reactor for 150 days.

Pectate lyases are a class of enzymes that degrade demethylated pectin by cleaving the α-1,4-glycosidic bond, and they play an important role in plant growth and development. Currently, little is known about the gene family members and their involvement in salt stress in potato.

However, the existing research on the systemic risk of the stock market lacks multi-dimensional factors, and there is still room for improvement in the forecasting model. Therefore, to further measure the systemic risk profile of the Chinese stock market, establish a risk early warning system suitable for the Chinese stock market, and improve the risk management awareness of investors and regulators.

Phenotype transformation of vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) plays an important role in the development of atherosclerosis. Asprosin is a newly discovered adipokine, which is critical in regulating metabolism. However, the relationship between asprosin and phenotype transformation of VSMCs in atherosclerosis remains unclear.

It has been shown that the abnormal expression of FZD receptors contributes to the manifestation of malignant characteristics in human tumors such as enhanced cell proliferation, metastasis, chemotherapy resistance as well as the acquisition of cancer stemness. Given the essential roles of FZD receptors in the Wnt signaling in human tumors, this review aims to consolidate the prevailing knowledge on the specific status of FZD receptors (FZD1-10) and elucidate their respective functions in tumor progression.

Poor catalytic activity and thermostability of DAEase prevent the industrial production of D-allulose. In this work, rational design was applied to a previously identified DAEase from ATCC BAA-613 based on the "back to consensus mutations" hypothesis, and the catalytic activity of the Cb-I265 V variant was enhanced 2.

Herein, inspired by the heliotropism of sunflowers, we present a biomimetic design of Ru-VOH electrocatalyst, featuring a dynamic Ru-O-V electron bridge for eNRR within a wide potential range. spectroscopy and theoretical investigations unravel the fact that the electrons are donated from Ru to V at lower overpotentials and retrieved at higher overpotentials, maintaining a delicate balance between N activation and proton hydrogenation.

We here demonstrate that treating rats with ibrutinib for 4 weeks resulted in the development of inducible AF, left atrial enlargement, atrial fibrosis, and downregulation of connexin expression, which were associated with C-terminal Src kinase (CSK) inhibition and Src activation. Ibrutinib upregulated angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) protein expression in human pulmonary microvascular endothelial cells (HPMECs) by inhibiting the PI3K-AKT pathway, subsequently increasing circulating angiotensin II (Ang II) levels.

In this work, a general shape-preserving amorphous-to-crystalline transformation (ACT) strategy is developed to dope various transition metal (TM) heteroatoms in ZrO, which enabled the scalable synthesis of TMs/oxide with a mesoporous 2D structure and rich defects. During the ACT process, the amorphous MZrO nanoparticles (M = Fe, Ni, Cu, Co, Mn) are deposited within a confined space created by the NaCl template, and they transform to crystalline 2D ACT-MZrO nanosheets in a shape-preserving manner.
