The integrity of the endothelial monolayer is critical for preventing life-threatening hemorrhaging and thrombosis. However, how severe endothelium-denuded injury is rapidly repaired remains unknown. Given the common biological properties between endothelial cells and circulating monocytes, we aimed to examine whether blood monocytes are involved in endothelium wound healing.

However, multiple flagellate microalgae practically live together in the ocean and lake areas, and they are susceptible to contamination as a result of improper operations. Enthused by these aspects, we develop a reliable inertial microfluidic method to overcome the influence of flagella movement and non-spherical shape on the alignment and isolation of target flagellate microalgae.

However, the commensalism of flagellate algae with distinct structures and constituents causes considerable difficulties in their further biological utilization. Therefore, it is imperative to develop a novel method to realize high-efficiency selection of non-spherical flagellate algae in a non-invasive manner.

For this, we put forward accurate and fast microfluidic impedance cytometry to analyze microalgal cells by assembling two cylindrical electrodes and microchannels to form a three-dimensional detection zone. Firstly, we established a mathematical model of microalgal cell detection based on Maxwell's mixture theory and numerically investigated the effects of the electrode gap, microalgal positions, and ion concentrations of the solution on detection to optimize detection conditions.

Their contractile state regulates blood flow in physiological and pathological conditions. Current methods for assessing the contractility of VSMCs are not amenable to the high-throughput screening of pharmaceutical compounds.

Recently, incommensurate CDW in bulk TiSe_{2} draws great interest due to its close relationship with the emergence of superconductivity. Here, we report an incommensurate superstructure in monolayer TiSe_{2}/CuSe/Cu(111) heterostructure.

Although previous studies have paid attention to the color of warning signs, they are mostly based on surveys and behavioral experiments. The neural substrates underlying the perception of warning signs with different background colors remain not clearly characterized.

GATA binding protein 5 (GATA5) is an important member of GATA family and plays an important role in vascular inflammation, endothelial function, oxidative stress and cell metabolism. Previous studies have shown that the DNA sequence variants (DSVs) in GATA4 and GATA6 promoter can increase susceptibility to AMI.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFIt is known that functional defects of GATA binding protein 5 (GATA5), an important member of GATA transcription factor family, could cause multiple congenital defects. However, the mechanisms of this transcription factor in cardiovascular diseases are still little known. Finding a genetic approach should help with understanding the possible roles of GATA5 in different cardiovascular diseases and purpose it as a possible therapeutic agent.

Cardiovascular disease is still the main cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Currently, the frontier of research into cardiovascular disease is the field of non-coding RNA. In this review, information was collected on the use of micro-RNAs as non-invasive biomarkers and their role in pathophysiological processes and therapeutic applications.

In this study, we investigated the effects of FM on epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in high glucose (HG)-stimulated human proximal tubular epithelial cells (HK-2) and the underlying mechanisms, including both direct targets and downstream signal-related proteins. The influence of FM on EMT marker proteins was evaluated via western blot.

Background: MicroRNA is a kind of single-stranded non-coding RNA whose length is about 22 nucleotides and its abnormal expression is related to disease closely. This study is aiming to explore the relative expression of miR-34b-3p and miR-302a-5p in the plasma of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients and its clinical value.
Methods: The levels of miR-34b-3p and miR-302a-5p in plasma were detected by real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) in 86 patients with NSCLC, 64 patients with pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB) and 39 healthy subjects.

Purpose: Several studies have suggested that liquid exosomes can be used as biomarkers for the diagnosis of lung cancer (LC). The purpose of this meta-analysis was to investigate the comprehensive diagnostic value of liquid exosomes for LC.
Materials And Methods: Relevant studies were searched from multiple electronic databases.
The early diagnosis of lung cancer can improve the survival rate of patients. Using imaging method to screen high-risk population plays an important role in early detection and early diagnosis. More and more research shows that liquid biopsy can replace and supplement the method.
