Evaluation of Antiphospholipid Antibodies in COVID-19 Patients with Coagulopathy.

Background: Due to the importance of recent published studies regarding the thrombotic events in COVID-19 patients, the purpose of this study was to evaluate the frequency of antiphospholipid antibodies in COVID-19 patients with coagulopathy.

Materials And Methods: The present cross-sectional study was conducted on COVID-19 patients with coagulopathy admitted to Imam Khomeini Hospital in Sari, Iran, between June and September in 2020. Later on, the levels of anti-phospholipid antibodies (aPL-ab) and biochemical factors were measured.

Bladder leiomyoma is a rare benign mesothelial tumor that is more commonly reported in women. Most patients present with frequent urination or obstructive urinary symptoms. Here, we portray a 50-year-old woman who presented to the clinic with abdominal pain and vaginal bleeding.

Heerfordt-Waldenström Syndrome, A Rare Presentation of Sarcoidosis in a Patient with Old Ocular Toxoplasmosis.

Background: There are similarities between the ophthalmic presentation of toxoplasmosis and sarcoidosis, and there are some concerns of immunosuppressive treatments for sarcoidosis, which may lead to T. gondii reactivation. We report a rare case with acute sarcoidosis (Heerfordt- Waldenström syndrome) with a history of ocular toxoplasmosis from the North of Iran.

Papillary carcinoma in correlation to thyroidal duct cyst: A case series.

Background: Persistent thyroglossal duct leads to a fibrous cyst formation named thyroglossal cyst which is the most common form of congenital cyst and usually located in the midline neck below the hyoid bone. Rarely the thyroglossal cyst is associated with thyroid cancer. Although the Sistrunk procedure is often considered adequate, currently there is no clear consensus on the optimal management of thyroglossal duct cyst especially duct cyst carcinoma.

Eosinophilic Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis Manifested by Cholecystitis and Mononeuritis Multiplex: A Case Report.

Eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis formerly named "Churg-Strauss syndrome (CSS)" is a systemic disease with bronchial asthma, hypereosinophilia, and systemic vasculitis. We report a case of CSS with cholecystitis and mononeuritis multiplex. A 50-year-old woman with a history of sinusitis and bronchial asthma of 8 years' duration was referred with a complaint of left-hand deformity and difficulty in walking.

Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor Expression in Colorectal Cancer and Its Relationship with Clinicopathological Characteristics.

BACKGROUND Some recent studies reported human epidermal growth factor receptor (HER-2/neu) as a marker that can be used in immunological studies of colorectal carcinoma for predicting the prognosis and the treatment. Therefore, we aimed to investigate the frequency of HER-2 expression in patients with colorectal cancer, and explore the relationship between clinicopathological prognostic factors and its expression based on immunohistochemical analysis. METHODS This study included 50 patients with a histologically proven diagnosis of colorectal carcinoma who received surgery at Imam Khomeini Hospital affiliated to Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences.

Serum immunoglobulin A concentration is a reliable biomarker for liver fibrosis in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.

Aim: To evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of serum Immunoglobulin A (IgA) for differentiating early stage nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) from nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH).

Methods: All cases had fatty liver change confirmed by ultrasound and aminotransferases of at least twice the normal level. Clinical and biochemical data, including serum IgA, were obtained from 50 histologically proven NAFLD cases and 54 healthy controls.
