Background: Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is a significant global health issue that is strongly associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD). While MetS was initially proposed to identify more high-risk individuals and facilitate early management, hyperuricemia has not yet been included in its definition, despite its strong association with MetS. This study aims to explore the prognostic value of incorporating hyperuricemia into the definition of MetS.

However, pharmacological therapy targeting this pathway remains undefined. Curcumol, a natural compound extracted from the Curcumae Rhizoma, has demonstrated anti-tumor and anti-inflammatory activities.

Central to this process is the modulation of vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) phenotypes, emphasizing their pivotal role in atherosclerotic plaque stability and healing post-disruption.

The aim was to investigate the underlying mechanisms of SSP's therapeutic effects, providing experimental evidence for its mechanism of action.
Methods: A mouse model of diarrhea with kidney-yang deficiency syndrome was induced using adenine combined with .
Background: With the increasing prevalence of obesity, weight loss has become a critical issue in China. Self-managed weight loss through a mobile health (mHealth) app may be a prospective method. However, its practicability in different economic regions of China is unknown.

TREM2 has been proven to participate in phagocytosis and metabolism, but how it modulates myocardial infarction remains unclear. In this study, we showed that macrophage-specific TREM2 deficiency worsened cardiac function and impaired post-MI repair.

Thus, the aim of this retrospective cohort study was to determine whether GWG of multiparas is associated with the increased risk of PE.
Methods: This was a study with 15,541 multiparous women who delivered in a maternity hospital in Shanghai from 2017 to 2021, stratified by early-pregnancy body mass index (BMI) category.
The traditional semiconductor photocatalysts for solving the related environmental aggravation are often challenged by the recombination of photogenerated carriers. Designing an S-scheme heterojunction photocatalyst is one of the keys to tackling its practical application problems. This paper reports an S-scheme AgVO/AgS heterojunction photocatalyst constructed via a straightforward hydrothermal approach that exhibits outstanding photocatalytic degradation performances to the organic dye Rhodamine B (RhB) and antibiotic Tetracycline hydrochloride (TC-HCl) driven by visible light.

Objectives: To explore the demographic and basic characteristics of body fat scale users and to investigate the changes in obesity-related body composition of overweight and obese users during COVID-19. Further, we analyzed the factors associated with successful weight loss and improved body composition changes in overweight and obese people.
Background: There is little evidence on left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) trajectories after ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI).
Aim: We aim to identify the LVEF trajectories after STEMI and explore their predictors and association with prognosis.
Methods: This is a retrospective, observational study of STEMI patients.

Serine proteinase inhibitor A3 (SERPINA3) has been discovered in the pathogenesis of many human diseases, but little is known about the role of SERPINA3 in coronary artery disease (CAD). Therefore, we aim to determine its relationship with CAD and its function in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis. In total 86 patients with CAD and 64 patients with non-CAD were compared.

In our experiment, a CRZ induced by the DBD plasma actuation was observed in the low swirl burner configuration for the first time, which clearly demonstrated that the mechanism of the combustion control by the plasma swirler is mainly through the aerodynamic effect. Three dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) actuators are placed in a circular array around the axis to generate ionic wind in the circumferential direction of the injector.
