Ischemic stroke is acknowledged as one of the most frequent causes of death and disability, in which neuroinflammation plays a critical role. Emerging evidence supports that the PGK1/Nrf2/HO-1 signaling can modulate inflammation and oxidative injury. Albiflorin (ALB), a main component of Radix paeoniae Alba, possesses anti-inflammatory and antioxidative properties.

A traditional Chinese herbal preparation called Tongqiao Huoxue Decoction (TQHX) has shown promise in reducing CIRI in rats. However, the mechanism of this herbal preparation for CIRI remains unclear.

We aimed to investigate whether a polypeptide monomer derived from pilose antler (polypeptide sequence LSALEGVFYP, PAP) exerts an antidepressant effect by influencing neurogenesis, and to elucidate the mechanism of its antidepressant action. Behavioral tests were performed to observe the antidepressant effect of PAP.

Astragaloside IV (AST IV), one of the basic components of Astragalus membranaceus, has a protective effect on CI. However, the underlying mechanism has not been conclusively elucidated.

Nevertheless, the exact mechanisms of HGWD have not been conclusively elucidated. This study aimed to investigate the potential role and mechanism of HGWD on neurological deficits in a rat model of middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO).

Although Ginkgo biloba extract has a protective effect on DN, the protective effect and mechanism of its active ingredient Ginkgolide B (GB) on DN remain unclear. The aim of the present study was to investigate whether GB improves DN via alleviating oxidative stress and ferroptosis by inhibiting GPX4 ubiquitination in PA-G-induced mouse podocytes and DN mice.

Background And Aims: Prior studies have shown an association between positive urinary protein and an elevated risk of long-term mortality in patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS); however, data on the short-term prognostic significance of urinary protein and urinary ketone bodies in patients with AIS is sparse.
Methods And Results: A total of 2842 AIS patients enrolled from December 2013 to May 2014 across 22 hospitals in Suzhou city were included. Patients were divided into urinary protein positive and negative, urinary ketone bodies positive and negative by urine dipstick.
Background: Previous studies have demonstrated the efficacy of the "drip-and-ship" model in acute ischemic stroke (AIS) patients treated with intravenous (IV) thrombolysis. We investigated and report the outcomes of the safety and efficacy of the "drip-and-ship" model in AIS patients with acute large-vessel occlusion (LVO) in the anterior circulation who underwent endovascular treatment.
Methods: A total of 92 AIS patients with LVO who underwent endovascular treatment enrolled from April 2017 to July 2018 at a single academic comprehensive stroke center (CSC) were included.
is known as the X-ray fish based on its translucent body. However, the morphological characteristics and the molecular regulatory mechanisms of these translucent bodies are still unknown. In this study, the following three phenotypes, a black-and-gray body color or wild-type (WT), a silvery-white body color defined as mutant I (MU1), and a fully transparent body with a visible visceral mass named as mutant II (MU2), were investigated to analyze their chromatophores and molecular mechanisms.

We investigated the combined effect of high WBC count and high blood glucose level on hospital admission and in-hospital mortality and pneumonia in acute AIS patients.
Methods: A total of 3124 AIS patients enrolled from December 2013 to May 2014 across 22 hospitals in Suzhou city were included in the present study.

Objective: To investigate the effect of mechanical thrombectomy with solitaire stent in the treatment of acute ischemic stroke with large cerebral artery occlusion.
Methods: Fifteen acute ischemic stroke patients with a proximal intracranial occlusion in the anterior circulation were included within 6 hours after symptom onset (unknown time of onset allowed in wake upstroke). Patients with a large infarct core or poor collateral circulation on computed tomography (CT) and CT angiography were excluded.
