Article Synopsis
  • - The study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of photoactivated disinfection using PAD Plus in treating denture stomatitis in diabetic rats by creating a specific rat model for the condition.
  • - Four groups of diabetic rats were treated with either single or multiple sessions of PAD, nystatin, or no treatment, assessing factors like inflammation and fungal load both one and seven days post-treatment.
  • - Results indicated that PAD significantly reduced infection markers in treated rats, particularly showing that multiple treatments yielded better results compared to single treatments, aligning closely with the outcomes of nystatin treatment.
