Phthalates in the environment of China: A scoping review of distribution, anthropogenic impact, and degradation based on meta-analysis.

Phthalates (PAEs) are a group of endocrine-disrupting environmental chemicals (EEDs) that pose significant risks to human health. PAEs are widespread in various environmental media, including air, dust, water, and soil, and are subject to both horizontal and vertical migration. Human activities significantly influence the distribution of PAEs, yet current research on this relationship remains limited.

Using the grounded theory to develop the theoretical model of Chinese school sports coaching competence.

Background: School sports coaching is gaining recognition as a formal profession worldwide, highlighting its significant role in students' holistic development. Given the complex social and cultural dimensions of the role, this study explores a coaching competence model tailored to the school context, emphasizing the need to consider both national and local frameworks to ensure effective implementation. In China, school sport coaches are responsible for both physical education teaching and sports training across all types of schools.

Exosomal miR-130b-3p suppresses metastasis of non-small cell lung cancer cells by targeting DEPDC1 via TGF-β signaling pathway.

Exosomal miRNAs have vital functions in mediating intercellular communication as well as tumor occurrence and development. Thus, our research was aimed at exploring the regulatory mechanisms of exosomal miR-130b-3p/DEP domain containing 1 (DEPDC1)/transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) signaling pathway in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Here we indicated that exosomal miR-130b-3p expression decreased in the serum of NSCLC patients, and it was of significant diagnostic value.

Effects of Fe(III) on the formation and toxicity alteration of halonitromethanes, dichloroacetonitrile, and dichloroacetamide from polyethyleneimine during UV/chlorine disinfection.

Trace iron ions (Fe(III)) are commonly found in water and wastewater, where free chlorine is very likely to coexist with Fe(III) affecting the disinfectant's stability and N-DBPs' fate during UV/chlorine disinfection, and yet current understanding of these mechanisms is limited. This study investigates the effects of Fe(III) on the formation and toxicity alteration of halonitromethanes (HNMs), dichloroacetonitrile (DCAN), and dichloroacetamide (DCAcAm) from polyethyleneimine (PEI) during UV/chlorine disinfection. Results reveal that the maxima concentrations of HNMs, DCAN, and DCAcAm during UV/chlorine disinfection with additional Fe(III) were 1.

Emergency cervical cerclage in delayed-interval delivery of twin pregnancies: a scoping review.

Background: The protocol for delayed-interval delivery of the second twin in twin pregnancies has not been standardized. Cervical cerclage is often performed, but its use is debated. To conduct a scoping review on cervical cerclage for prolonging the intertwin delivery interval and improving second twin survival and maternal outcomes after preterm delivery or spontaneous abortion of the first twin in twin pregnancies.

Novel potential lncRNA biomarker in B cells indicates essential pathogenic pathway activation in patients with SLE.

Objectives: Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a highly heterogeneous disease, and B cell abnormalities play a central role in the pathogenesis of SLE. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have also been implicated in the pathogenesis of SLE. The expression of lncRNAs is finely regulated and cell-type dependent, so we aimed to identify B cell-expressing lncRNAs as biomarkers for SLE, and to explore their ability to reflect the status of SLE critical pathway and disease activity.

Comprehensive analysis and validation reveal DEPDC1 as a potential diagnostic biomarker associated with tumor immunity in non-small-cell lung cancer.

Current evidence suggests that DEP domain containing 1 (DEPDC1) has an important effect on non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). However, the diagnostic value and the regulatory function within NSCLC are largely unclear. This work utilized publicly available databases and in vitro experiments for exploring, DEPDC1 expression, clinical features, diagnostic significance and latent molecular mechanism within NSCLC.

Developing an evaluation index system for the online learning literacy of physical education teachers in China.

Background: The convenience of online learning helps physical education teachers overcome geographic barriers and promotes safe, accessible, high-quality education. This three-stage study developed an evaluation index system for online learning literacy of physical education (PE) teachers (OLLPET).

Methods: Using two rounds of the Delphi method and one round of the Expert ranking method, consult with 15 PE experts from universities, primary and secondary schools, and teaching-research staff to draw up, revise, and finalize an evaluation index system for OLLPET.

Artificial intelligence in the risk prediction models of cardiovascular disease and development of an independent validation screening tool: a systematic review.

Background: A comprehensive overview of artificial intelligence (AI) for cardiovascular disease (CVD) prediction and a screening tool of AI models (AI-Ms) for independent external validation are lacking. This systematic review aims to identify, describe, and appraise AI-Ms of CVD prediction in the general and special populations and develop a new independent validation score (IVS) for AI-Ms replicability evaluation.

Methods: PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, and IEEE library were searched up to July 2021.

Methods: We used data from the 2018 wave of the Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey, which included 12,214 individuals aged ≥ 60.

Association of plant-based dietary patterns with depression and anxiety symptoms in Chinese older adults: A nationwide study.

Background: The associations of plant-based dietary patterns with depression and anxiety symptoms among older adults have not been extensively studied. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to examine these associations in Chinese older adults.

Methods: Data from the Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey (CLHLS) was employed in the present study.

The transcription factor ZEB2 drives the formation of age-associated B cells.

Age-associated B cells (ABCs) accumulate during infection, aging, and autoimmunity, contributing to lupus pathogenesis. In this study, we screened for transcription factors driving ABC formation and found that zinc finger E-box binding homeobox 2 (ZEB2) is required for human and mouse ABC differentiation in vitro. ABCs are reduced in haploinsufficient individuals and in mice lacking in B cells.

Developing the theoretical model of Chinese physical education teachers' health communication competence: based on grounded theory.

Background: Physical education teachers' health communication competence is a key factor in health promotion. Although health communication is a multidisciplinary field, medical practitioners are the primary focus of health communication research, whereas physical education teachers are marginalized. Therefore, this study proposes a theoretical model of health communication competence for physical education teachers.

Objective: The diminished expression of microRNA-146a (miR-146a) in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) contributes to the aberrant activation of the interferon pathway. Despite its significance, the underlying mechanism driving this reduced expression remains elusive. Considering the integral role of enhancers in steering gene expression, our study seeks to pinpoint the SLE-affected enhancers responsible for modulating miR-146a expression.

Objective: There is an urgent need for novel biomarkers in lupus nephritis (LN). We report a non-invasive urinary biomarker, L-selectin, in two independent multi-ethnic cohorts.

Methods: uL-selectin was tested cross-sectionally in a Chinese cohort (n=255) and a US cohort (n=219) of SLE patients and controls using ELISA.

Objective: Evidences show that there may be a link between SLE and COVID-19. The purpose of this study is to screen out the diagnostic biomarkers of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) with COVID-19 and explore the possible related mechanisms by the bioinformatics approach.
