Crystal Structure, Photophysical Properties and Antibacterial Activity of a Cd(II) Complex with -2,3,4-Trimethoxycinnamic Acid and 4,4'-Bipyridine Ligands.

A new coordination polymer {[Cd(CHO)(4,4'-bpy)(HO)]} () was constructed with trans-2,3,4-Trimethoxycinnamic acid (HTmca) and 4,4'-Bipyridine (4,4'-bpy) ligands. This complex was structurally characterized on the basis of elemental analysis, infrared (IR) spectroscopy, powder X-ray diffraction and thermogravimetric analyses. X-ray crystallography revealed that the complex was monoclinic, space group C2/c.

Recent studies have shown that almost half of all cancers occur due to DNA damage. For the early diagnosis of cancer, a highly sensitized and swift identification for TP53 is needed since the corresponding TP53 protein is effectively recognized as "the guardian of the genome." To improve the detection sensitivity, numerous analytical methods were previously used for the determination of the TP53 protein, including denaturing high-performance liquid chromatography and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).

Background: Localized aggressive periodontitis is rare periodontitis in clinical practice, which often occurs in young adults under 35 years old, seriously affecting patients' quality of life. As a tetracycline antibacterial drug, minocycline is also considered an essential choice to treat periodontal disease. However, few reports focused on the effect of xipayi mouth rinse combined with minocycline on periodontal pathogens.

Polarization-stabilized tunable VCSEL with internal-cavity sub-wavelength grating.

In this paper, a tunable VCSEL with internal-cavity sub-wavelength grating structure at 850nm was demonstrated. Utilizing the birefringence and anti-reflection characteristics of the sub-wavelength grating, the tunable VCSEL with wide wavelength tuning range and stable TE polarization mode was achieved. The relationships between the parameters of sub-wavelength grating and the transmittance/effective index of two polarization modes were analyzed.

Time-varying and asymmetric effects of the oil-specific demand shock on investor sentiment.

The relationship between oil price and investor sentiment is crucial to economic activity. Disentangling the shocks in crude oil price by structural VAR model, this paper analyzes the interaction between oil price shocks and investor sentiment by linear and nonlinear causality approach, TVP-VAR mode and NARDL model. The results reveal that changes of oil-specific demand shock not only linearly but also nonlinearly cause changes of investor sentiment while there is no significant link between other oil shocks (oil supply shock and aggregate demand shock) and investor sentiment.

Fairness and Smiling Mediate the Effects of Openness on Perceived Fairness: Beside Perceived Intention.

Previous studies have shown that smiling, fairness, intention, and the results being openness to the proposer can influence the responses in ultimatum games, respectively. But it is not clear that how the four factors might interact with each other in twos or in threes or in fours. This study examined the way that how the four factors work in resource distribution games by testing the differences between average rejection rates in different treatments.

Simultaneous determination of ascorbic acid, dopamine and uric acid based on tryptophan functionalized graphene.

A new type of tryptophan-functionalized graphene nanocomposite (Trp-GR) was synthesized by utilizing a facile ultrasonic method via π-π conjugate action between graphene (GR) and tryptophan (Trp) molecule. The material as prepared had well dispersivity in water and better conductivity than pure GR. The surface morphology of Trp-GR was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and Raman spectroscopy.
