Context: Recurrent spontaneous abortion (RSA) is defined as the loss of 2 or more consecutive intrauterine pregnancies with the same sexual partner in the first trimester. Despite its significance, the etiology and underlying mechanisms of RSA remain elusive. Defective decidualization is proposed as one of the potential causes of RSA, with abnormal decidualization leading to disturbances in trophoblast invasion function.

Purpose: The purpose of our study is to investigate the function of YAP1 in the trophoblast ferroptosis and maternal-fetal interface communication of RPL.

Methods: We collected 25 villous tissues and detected the expression of YAP1. Cell counting kit-8 assay, scratch wound-healing assay, and Matrigel invasion assay were performed to observe the proliferation, migration, and invasion of HTR-8/SVneo and JAR cells.

Background: Clinically, recurrent spontaneous abortion (RSA) is a pregnancy illness that is difficult to treat. Impaired decidualization is a documented cause of RSA, but the etiology and mechanism are still unknown. cAMP-responsive element binding protein 5 (CREB5) is a member of the ATF/CREB family.

Objective: To detect serum metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9), tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases (TIMP-1), cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), and T helper cells 1-T helper cells 2 (Th1-Th2) levels in asthma patients and assess their clinical significance.

Methods: A total of 72 patients experiencing acute asthma (acute group), 66 stable asthma patients (stable group), and 60 healthy volunteers (control group) were included in this study. The levels of TIMP-1, COX-2, and Th1-Th2 in patients with acute asthma were measured following treatment with budesonide aerosol inhalation.

Insulin-like growth factor II mRNA-binding protein 3 (IGF2BP3) has been proved to affect trophoblast function and embryonic development, but its role and potential mechanism in recurrent spontaneous abortion (RSA) are not clear. RSA is a complex reproductive disease, causing physical and mental damage to patients. In recent years, many studies have found that immune microenvironment is vital to maintain successful pregnancy in the maternal fetal interface.

Article Synopsis
  • Pregnancy involves complex biological interactions crucial for the development of the fetus, particularly the interplay between maternal immune cells and inflammatory cytokines.
  • Disruption of these immune cells can lead to negative pregnancy outcomes, and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)- is a key inflammatory cytokine linked to various pregnancy issues.
  • The review discusses how imbalances in TNF- may contribute to complications like preeclampsia, intrauterine growth restriction, and preterm birth, as well as the effects of anti-TNF- medications on these risks.

Recurrent spontaneous abortion (RSA) is defined as the loss of two or more consecutive intrauterine pregnancies that are clinically established early in pregnancy. To date, the etiology and underlying mechanisms of RSA remain unclear. It is widely thought that the impairment of decidualization is inclined to induce subsequent pregnancy failure and leads to the dysregulation of extra-villous trophoblast invasion and proliferation through maternal-fetal cross talk.
