The combustibility of wood can be improved by physical and chemical means, thus expanding the use of wood products. In this study, two novel phosphorus-nitrogen flame retardants (UCPR and MCPR) were developed, and the intercalated modified layered double hydroxides (LDH) thereof were designated as UCPR-LDH and MCPR-LDH. By impregnating poplar veneer with UCPR-LDH and MCPR-LDH solutions, the study investigated the effects of different concentrations (1%, 5%, 10%), processes (vacuum-pressure impregnation, room temperature impregnation, normal-pressure impregnation), and impregnation times (2 h, 3 h, 24 h, 48 h) on the weight-gain rate of veneer.

A full necropsy to harvest the sample matrices for diagnosis in the farm may lead to contamination of the premises and directly threaten to the herds. In the present study, we compared the ASFV loads of the common samples that can be collected without necropsy.

Maternal vaccines can effectively enhance the gut-mammary gland-secretory IgA axis to boost lactogenic immunity and passive protection of nursing piglets against PEDV challenge. From 2017 to 2021, we collected 882 diarrhea samples from 303 farms in China to investigate the epidemiology of PEDV.

Additionally, it can enhance tolerance to abiotic stresses, exemplified by plant species found in extreme ecological niches like deserts. These complex microbe-plant interactions can be simplified by constructing synthetic bacterial communities or SynComs from the root microbiome.

The microbiome composition is controlled by the environment and plant genotype. Previously, it was shown that the plant genotype-dependent dissimilarity of root microbiome composition of different species becomes smaller under drought stress.

Vascular cambium activity is driven by endogenous developmental signalling cues and environmental stimuli. Current knowledge regarding the genetic regulation of cambium activity and secondary growth is still far from complete.

Chinese cabbage plants resemble pak-choi plants at their seedling stage, but in their rosette stage the leaves of Chinese cabbage differentiate, as they increase in size with shorter petioles. In order to understand the molecular pathways that play a role in leafy head formation, transcript abundance of young emerging leaves was profiled during development of two Chinese cabbage genotypes and a single pak-choi genotype.
