The olivine-based gallate CaYGaO (CYG) with unique cationic ordering, rich lattice sites, and self-photoluminescence (PL) is suitable for application as a host of phosphor. However, research in this area is still in its early stages, especially in high-quality full-spectrum white lighting. Herein, novel CYG: Bi/Eu with a controllable PL property is designed based on energy transfer and superposition of emissions from blue self-PL, blue PL of Bi, and red-PL of Eu.

Synopsis of recent research by authors named "Zhicai Yao"

  • - Zhicai Yao's research focuses on the photoluminescence characteristics of CaYGaO: Bi/Eu, targeting its application in near-ultraviolet white light-emitting diodes (nUV wLEDs), emphasizing the manipulation of composition and crystallographic structures.
  • - The study highlights the unique properties of olivine-based gallate CaYGaO, noting its potential as a phosphor host due to its cationic ordering and rich lattice sites, which enhance self-photoluminescence.
  • - The findings demonstrate a novel approach to achieving controllable photoluminescence in CYG: Bi/Eu through the strategic combination of various emission sources, thus paving the way for improved full-spectrum white lighting solutions.
