The Sabatier principle in heterogeneous catalysis provides guidance for designing optimal catalysts with the highest activity. We report a new Sabatier phenomenon induced by nanoclusters on different atomic scales in gas-sensitive reactions. We prepared a series of Ag nanocluster catalysts with coordination structures ranging from Ag to Ag through a surface coordination strategy.

Initial manifestations of PAM are indistinguishable from bacterial meningitis. Prompt diagnosis and antifungal treatment may help decline the overall mortality.

The epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) is an important mechanism for both the initiation of tumor invasion and subsequent metastasis. Therefore, this study investigated the mechanism by which transforming growth factor (TGF)-β1 induces EMT in human neuroblastoma cells.

Background: To report the preliminary experience of laparoscopic radical nephrectomy (LRN) in children with Wilms' tumor (WT) and renal cancer.
Patients And Methods: From January 2010 to October 2013, the medical records of 7 cases of WT or renal cancer in children treated by LRN at two medical centers in China were reviewed.
Results: All the patients were treated by LRN, and 3 of them underwent preoperative chemotherapy before surgery.
Unlabelled: Two new large poly-1,3-dodecylpyridinium salts, APS12 and APS12-2 of 12.5- and 14.7-kDa size, respectively, were synthesised and tested for their pore-forming and transfection capabilities in HEK 293 and undifferentiated mouse ES cells using patch-clamp recording, Ca(2+) imaging and flow cytometry.

These 2 children were noted to have a pit in the left upper lateral buttock and a postanal orifice after birth. Magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography, and ultrasonography showed an inflammatory mass lesion in the buttock and a funicular structure adjacent to the rectum.

Methods: Serum and bile from 8 children with PBM and mild biliary dilatation (6 to 11 mm in diameter) and 4 young pigs with an anastomosis constructed between an isolated pancreas-duodenal segment and the gallbladder were studied for pancreatic isoamylases. Using an electrophoretic technique, the assay of pancreatic isoamylases was expressed by peak appearance rate (PAR).
