Introduction: The traditional Chinese medicine formula, Bushen Daozhuo Granules (BSDZG), is used to treat chronic non-bacterial prostatitis (CNP) clinically. However, its mechanism of action is unclear. The aim of our study was to determine the effect of BSDZG on CNP and its underlying mechanisms.

[Bushen Daozhuo Granules for type Ⅲ prostatitis: A multicenter randomized controlled clinical trial].

Objective: To study the safety and efficacy of Bushen Daozhuo Granules (BDG) in the treatment of type Ⅲ prostatitis.

Methods: This multicenter randomized controlled clinical trial included 478 patients with type Ⅲ prostatitis, 290 in the trial group and 188 as controls, the former treated with BDG at 200 ml bid and the latter with tamsulosin hydrochloride sustainedrelease capsules at 0.2 mg qd, both for 4 weeks.

The Stimulative Effect of Yangjing Capsule on Testosterone Synthesis through Nur77 Pathway in Leydig Cells.

Yangjing Capsule (YC), an innovative Chinese medicine based on traditional prescription, promotes testosterone synthesis by upregulating the expression of steroidogenic enzymes. Nur77 as a nuclear receptor is known to regulate the expression of many steroid synthetases. This study aimed to explore the potential mechanisms by which YC regulates testosterone synthesis in Leydig cells.

Protective effect of vitamin E on methyl methanesulfonate-induced teratozoospermia in adult Sprague-Dawley rats.

The protective effect of vitamin E (VE, α-tocopherol) on methyl methanesulfonate (MMS)-induced teratozoospermia was investigated in adult rats. Rats (n=6 per group) were divided into three groups: i) Control group, treated with distilled water from days 1 to 5; ii) the MMS group, treated with MMS at a dose of 40 mg·kg(-1) from days 1‑5; or iii) the VE+MMS group, treated with MMS at a dose of 40 mg·kg(-1) from days 1‑5, followed by VE at a dose of 150 mg·kg(-1) from day 6 for 6 weeks. Sperm count, motility and morphology were examined following treatment with VE.

Role of SB203580 in the regulation of human esophageal cancer cells under the effection of Diosgenin.

In order to investigate the mechanism of human esophageal Eca109 cells induced by Diosgenin (Dio), the p38 specific inhibitor SB203580 was used to inhibit the expression of p38 and Western blot was employed to detect the effect of SB203580 in Eca109 cells. MTT experiments were executed to detect the proliferation of the cells. Western blot was also applied to find the expression of phosphorylated p38 (p-p38).
