Visible-light-driven CO2 reduction presents a long-term answer to environmental challenges. The limited effective optical carriers generated by the limited response dynamics of the existing photocatalyst have severely hindered the development of high efficiency photocatalysts. Here, we report a method of cobalt atoms intercalation in ultrathin BiOBr nanosheets for boosted photocatalytic CO2 reduction.

High-throughput Design of Single-atom Catalysts with Nonplanar and Triple Pyrrole-N Coordination for Highly Efficient HO Electrosynthesis.

Single-atom catalysts (SACs) with nonplanar configurations possess unique capabilities for tailoring the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) catalytic performance compared with the ones with planar configurations, owing to the additional orbital rearrangement arising from the asymmetric coordination atoms. However, the systematic investigation of these nonplanar SACs has long been hindered by the difficulty in screening feasible nonplanar configurations and precisely controlling the coordination structures. Herein, we demonstrate a combined high-throughput screening and experimental verification of nonplanar SACs (ppy-MN) with metal atoms triple-coordinated by pyrrole-N, for highly active and selective 2e ORR electrocatalysis.

Synergistic Surface Engineering of BiVO Photoanodes for Improved Photoelectrochemical Water Oxidation.

Surface engineering of BiVO photoanodes is effective and feasible for photoelectrochemical (PEC) water splitting. To achieve superior PEC performance, however, more than one surface engineering method is usually indispensable, for which a positive synergistic effect is vital and thus highly desired. Herein, it is reported that the incorporation of borate moieties into ultrathin p-type NiO catalysts can induce the reconfiguration of surface catalytic sites to form new highly active species, in addition to enhanced fast charge separation and transfer.

LobE-Specific lymph node diSsectiON for clinical early-stage non-small cell lung cancer: protocol for a randomised controlled trial (the LESSON trial).

Introduction: Lung cancer was the most common malignancy and the leading cause of cancer-related death in China or worldwide, and surgery is still the preferred treatment for early-stage non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The pattern of lymph node metastasis was found potentially lobe specific, and thus, lobe-specific lymph node dissection (L-SLND) was proposed to be an alternative to systematic lymph node dissection (SLND) for the treatment of early-stage NSCLC.

Methods And Analysis: The LobE-Specific lymph node diSsectiON trial is a single-institutional, randomised, double-blind and parallel controlled trial to investigate the feasibility of L-SLND in clinically diagnosed stage IA1-2 NSCLC with ground-glass opacity components (≥50%).

Intraoperative conversion from video-assisted thoracoscopic lobectomy to thoracotomy for non-small-cell lung cancer: Does it have an impact on long-term survival?

A best evidence topic in thoracic surgery was written according to a structured protocol. The question addressed was whether intraoperative conversions to thoracotomy have an impact on long-term survival for patients with non-small-cell lung cancer who underwent video-assisted thoracoscopic lobectomy initially. A total of 461 papers were found using the reported search, of which 6 retrospective cohort studies represented the best evidence to answer the clinical question.

Hispidulin Protects Against Focal Cerebral Ischemia Reperfusion Injury in Rats.

Focal cerebral ischemia is associated with ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury. Hispidulin is a flavonoid compound with a variety of pharmacological properties. The neuroprotective effects of hispidulin have not been fully elucidated.

Chinese medicine improves postoperative quality of life in endometriosis patients: a randomized controlled trial.

Objective: To investigate the effect of Chinese medicine (CM) and Western medicine (WM) on quality of life (QOL) after conservative surgery for endometriosis.

Methods: A total of 320 patients with endometriosis were randomized into two groups by using random block design, CM group (160 cases, activating blood circulation and removing blood stasis treatment based on syndrome differentiation) and WM group (160 cases, gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist or gestrinone treatment) after conservative surgery. Treatment was given for 3-6 months (according to the revised American Fertility Society scoring system stage), and the World Health Organization QOL-BREF (WHOQOL-BREF) was applied to patients before and after treatment to assess QOL.
