Purpose: The aim of the study was to evaluate the predictive significance of several systemic inflammatory biomarkers, namely neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio (LMR), platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) and systemic immune inflammatory index (SII) in relation to the occurrence of systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS) after percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL).

Methods: A cohort of 317 patients who underwent PCNL were retrospectively recruited and evaluated. Based on the subsequent occurrence of SIRS after PCNL, patients were divided into two different groups: SIRS (n = 51) and non-SIRS (n = 266).

Soil organic carbon (SOC) fractions are vital intrinsic indicators of SOC stability, and soil fungi are the key drivers of soil carbon cycling. However, variations in SOC fractions along an elevational gradient in mountain meadows and the role of the fungal community in regulating these variations are largely unknown, especially in subtropical areas. In this study, an elevation gradient experiment (with experimental sites at 1500, 1700, and 1900 m) was set up in a community in a meadow on Wugong Mountain, Southeast China, to clarify the effects of elevation on soil fungal community composition, microbial residue carbon, and SOC fractions.

Photothermal superhydrophobic surfaces present a promising energy-saving solution for anti-/de-icing, offering effective icing delay and photothermal de-icing capabilities. However, a significant challenge in their practical application is the mechanical interlocking of micro-nanostructures with ice formed from condensed water vapor, leading to meltwater retention and compromised functionality post-de-icing. Here, a robust photo-/electrothermal icephobic surface with dynamic phase-transition micro-nanostructures are demonstrated through laser microfabrication and surface engineering.

This work presents a resilient distributed optimization algorithm based on the event-triggering mechanism for cyber-physical systems (CPSs) to optimize an average of convex cost functions corresponding to multiple agents under adversarial environments. Two attack scenarios, including the f-total (each agent is affected by at most f malicious agents in the whole network) and the f-local (each agent is affected by at most f malicious agents in its in-neighbor set) attacks are considered. Subsequently, the convergence conditions under these two attack scenarios are provided, respectively, both of which guarantee that the state values of benign agents converge to a bounded error range.
