Background: Adenosine deaminase action on RNA 1 (ADAR1) can convert the adenosine in double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) molecules into inosine in a process known as A-to-I RNA editing. ADAR1 regulates gene expression output by interacting with RNA and other proteins; plays important roles in development, including growth; and is linked to innate immunity, tumors, and central nervous system (CNS) diseases.

Results: In recent years, the role of ADAR1 in tumors has been widely discussed, but its role in CNS diseases has not been reviewed.

Introduction: This study explored the effects of task-switching type and sex on the task-switching ability of methamphetamine abstainers, as well as the differences in brain mechanisms under drug cravings under drug cravings using near-infrared spectroscopy.

Methods: Craving-inducing videos were used to arouse 20 methamphetamine abstainers (including 10 men), whose switching ability was then assessed using voluntary and cued task-switching exercises.

Results: During task-switching under methamphetamine cravings, the activation of the premotor cortex (PMC), supplementary motor area (SMA), frontal eye field (FEF), and dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) in women was significantly stronger than in men, while the activation of FEF in men was significantly stronger than in women.

To investigate the impact of intravitreal injection of conbercept, a recombinant fusion protein with decoy receptors for the vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) family, on intraocular concentrations of angiogenic and inflammatory mediators in patients with proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR), analyzed its potential impact on surgical outcomes. In this paper, the multi-task dense-feature-fusion survival prediction (DFFSP) model is proposed to predict the three-year survival for glioblastoma (GBM) patients based on radiogenomics data. The contrast-enhanced T1-weighted (T1w) image, T2-weighted (T2w) image and copy number variation (CNV) is used as the input of the three branches of the DFFSP model. This model uses two image extraction modules consisting of residual blocks and one dense feature fusion module to make multi-scale fusion of T1w and T2w image features as backbone.

Background: Stroke is an acute cerebrovascular disease in which brain tissue is damaged due to sudden obstruction of blood flow to the brain or the rupture of blood vessels in the brain, which can prompt ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke. After stroke onset, ischemia, hypoxia, infiltration of blood components into the brain parenchyma, and lysed cell fragments, among other factors, invariably increase blood-brain barrier (BBB) permeability, the inflammatory response, and brain edema.
