A novel flow injection chemiluminescence (CL) sensor for the determination of maleic hydrazide (MH) using molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) as recognition element is reported. The MH-MIP was synthesized by thermal initiated polymerization in methanol, using methacrylic acid (MAA) as functional monomer and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA) as cross-linker in the maleic hydrazide template molecule. Molecular modeling was employed to simulate the possible recognition process of the MIP, and to achieve high selectivity.

Conjugates of chloramphenicol and clenbuterol coupled with bovine serum albumin were synthesized and purified. Probes of suspension array were constituted by coupling the three conjugates on the fluorescent microspheres/beads and the microstructures of the beads' surface were observed by scanning electron microscopy which was a direct confirmation for the successful conjugates' coupling.

To detect BPA residue in the environment quickly by immune method, preparation of high quality antibody against BPA was the most critical step of project. Based on Mannich-type reaction and EDC method, we produced BPA-cBSA and BHPVA-BSA against BPA and the conjugates were characterized by UV-Vis and FT-IR spectroscopy. Compared with BSA, cBSA as carrier protein could improve the efficiency of coupling and significantly enhance the immune response against BPA.
