The nuclear membrane is a double-layered structure that physically protects the cell's DNA from the chemical reactions occurring in other parts of the cell. In this study, we present the first brand-new small-molecule fluorescent probe that selectively stains the nuclear membrane, allowing for the visualization of nuclear morphology without interfering with the DNA's activity.

Using a Tet-On 3G genetic approach, we achieved precise temporal control over protein translation in the infralimbic medial prefrontal cortex () during fear extinction. In addition, our results reveal that the disruption of cytoplasmic polyadenylation element binding protein 1 (Cpeb1) leads to notable alterations in cell type-specific translational programs, thereby affecting fear extinction.

However, the expression of a key neurotrophic factor, brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), was low in both MSCs and MSC microspheres, restricting the associated neural repair. Based on the hypoxia and oxidative stress microenvironments within cell spheroids and lesion areas, BDNF-expressing nanocomplexes that are dual-responsive to hypoxia and reactive oxygen species were designed to modify MSCs, achieving high BDNF expression in MSC spheroids.

Menstrual abdominal pain is the most common symptom, and auxiliary examinations often cannot clarify its nature. It often relies on intraoperative diagnosis, and surgical resection can achieve good therapeutic effects.

A year has gone by, and it is still hard to believe that Dr. Shuying Liu had left us on November 22, 2023. Most her colleagues and friends remember vividly her passionate images captured in the talk she filmed for the Chinese Mass Spectrometry Conference 2020-2023 in June 2023.

Currently, there is a lack of robust models for predicting R/R DLBCL. Therefore, we conducted a retrospective study to identify key determinants to be incorporated into a novel nomogram to enhance the identification of DLBCL patients at elevated risk of refractoriness/recurrence.

Methods: A total of 2,867 women undergoing their first fertilization (IVF) cycle at Shenzhen Zhongshan Obstetrics & Gynecology Hospital between January 1, 2013 and June 30, 2021, were enrolled in this study. The participants had documented thyroid and ovarian reserve metrics.
MicroRNA (miRNA)-based therapy holds significant potential; however, its structural limitations pose a challenge to the full exploitation of its biomedical functionality. Framework nucleic acids are promising owing to their transportability, biocompatibility, and functional editability. MiRNA-125 is embedded into a nucleic acid framework to create an enzyme-responsive nanoparachute (NP), enhancing the miRNA loading capacity while preserving the attributes of small-scale framework nucleic acids and circumventing the uncertainty related to RNA exposure in conventional loading methods.

However, access to C14-functionalized steroids was impeded by the deficiency of chemical synthetic methods. Recently, several membrane-bound fungal cytochrome P450s (CYPs) have been identified with steroid C14α-hydroxylation activity.

Background: Fungal spondylitis often occurs in patients with immune dysfunction, and its diagnosis and treatment pose certain challenges. However, even in immunocompromised patients, Aspergillus spondylitis remains rare. This case reports the diagnostic and therapeutic experience of fungal spondylitis in a patient with consolidated cirrhosis and no significant immune impairment.

Crustaceans have different metamorphosis types from insects; we previously proved that methyl farnesoate (MF) can prohibit larvae metamorphosis in mud crabs, but the molecular signal of this process still needs to be elucidated. In this study, () of was obtained and characterized, which we named .

Constructing heterostructures is an effective strategy for the synthesis of high-performance anode electrode materials for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). In this study, a "bubbling" PEGylated deep eutectic solvent (DES) method is utilized to synthesize SnO/SnS heterostructure nanodots anchored on carbon nanosheets (SnO/SnS@CN). A comprehensive investigation of the physical and chemical processes during the "bubbling" reaction offers in-depth insights into the underlying mechanism of the PEGylated DES approach.

Here, using an in vitro BMSC-MM interacting model, we observed BMSCs protected MM cells from labile iron pool (LIP) and reactive oxygen species (ROS) triggered ferroptosis by elevating glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4). Mechanistically, direct interaction with BMSCs upregulated the expression of SUMO-specific protease 3 (SENP3) in MM cells through CD40/CD40L signaling pathway, and SENP3 de-conjugated SUMO2 at lysine 75 residue to stabilize GPX4 protein, thereby consuming ROS to obviate ferroptosis in MM cells from the Vk∗MYC mouse model, as well as in CD138B220 cells separated from the Cd40l;Prx1 mice (CD40-CKO) and Sumo2 knock out (SUMO2-KO) mice.

The acoustic signals are encoded as the relative phase of the polarized light in several channels by fibers between optical fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs). With appropriate preselection and postselection, the acoustic signal can be extracted by performing the Fourier transform on the contrast ratio of the detected light intensity.
