In light of the increasingly adverse environmental conditions and the concomitant challenges to the survival of important crops, there is a pressing need to enhance the resilience of pepper seedlings to extreme weather. Carotenoid plays an important role in plants' resistance to abiotic stress. Nevertheless, the relationship between carotenoid biosynthesis and sweet pepper seedlings' resistance to different abiotic stresses remains uncertain.

Herein, phase transformation engineering is utilized to separately regulate catalyst structure, and the designed NiFe@Ni/Fe-MnOOH schottky heterojunction exhibits remarkable bifunctional electrocatalytic activity with low overpotentials of 19 and 230 mV at 10 mA cm for HER and OER in 1M KOH, respectively. Meanwhile, an anion-exchange membrane water electrolyzer employing NiFe@Ni/Fe-MnOOH as electrodes shows low voltages of 1.

Background: Vitiligo is a chronic autoimmune disease manifested by depigmented patches of skin devoid of melanocytes. Baricitinib, a JAK inhibitor selectively targeting JAK1/2, has shown preliminary efficacy for vitiligo. We aimed to assess the efficacy and tolerability of combination therapy with baricitinib and narrowband UV-B (NB-UVB) to treat active nonsegmental vitiligo (NSV).

The alpine subnival belt of southwest China, especially in the Hengduan Mountains and adjacent areas, is sky island-like. Among them, the Yunnan-Kweichow Plateau harbors several isolated mountains with well-developed alpine subnival vegetation, sharing a similar species composition with the Hengduan Mountains.

The Asian corn borer (ACB) moth has undergone natural selection during its adaptative evolution. However, structural variants (SVs), which play significant roles in these adaptation processes, have not been previously identified.

To consider the influence of different speeds and loads on the vibration of viaducts and the surrounding soil environment, this paper establishes a three-dimensional finite element model of rail-viaduct soil. The results show that: the frequency domain acceleration of each measurement point increases with the increase of train speed; except for the measurement point which is 20 m away from the centerline of the track, the frequency domain speed of each measurement point increases with the increase of train speed; the frequency domain speed under the low-frequency component of the viaduct measurement point increases with the increase of train loading, and the growth rate is obviously larger than that of the middle and high frequency bands, and the frequency domain speed of the measurement points in the site also increases with the increase of train loading, and the growth rate of the low-frequency band is obviously larger than that of the middle and high frequency bands.

This study combined BOPPPS (bridge-in, learning objective, pretest, participatory learning, posttest, and summary) teaching model and SBAR (situation-background-assessment-recommendation) communication model to try a new teaching and assessment model of doctor-patient communication, aiming to explore and improve the teaching method of doctor-patient communication for oncology residents.
Methods: Ninety residents were randomly divided into two groups: the experimental group (n = 45) was trained with the BOPPPS teaching model combined with the SBAR communication model, the routine teaching method was adopted in the control group (n = 45).
Introduction: Medicinal Polygonatum species is a widely used traditional Chinese medicine with high nutritional value, known for its anti-fatigue properties, enhancement of immunity, delays aging, improves sleep, and other health benefits. However, the efficacy of different species varies, making the quality control of medicinal Polygonatum species increasingly important. Polysaccharides are important in medicinal Polygonatum species because of their potential functional properties, such as antioxidation, hypoglycemia, protection of intestinal health, and minimal toxicological effects on human health, as well as high polysaccharide levels.

There are two types of FTCs in the field: FTCs with increasing temperature from winter to spring (spring FTCs); and FTCs with decreasing temperature from autumn to winter (autumn FTCs). While previous studies have evaluated the hydraulic function during the growing season, its seasonal changes and how it adapts to different types of FTCs remain unverified.

This study developed an enhanced UDP-glucose regeneration system to facilitate the multienzyme synthesis of nucleoside disaccharides by integrating it with nucleoside-specific glycosyltransferases. The system utilizes maltodextrin and polyphosphate as cost-effective substrates for UDP-glucose supply, catalyzed by α-glucan phosphorylase (αGP) and UDP-glucose pyrophosphorylase (UGP).

The airborne flight management system (FMS) uses actual navigation performance (ANP) to quantitatively calculate the uncertainty of aircraft position estimation, and its evaluation accuracy is highly dependent on the position estimation covariance matrix (PECM) provided by the airborne integrated navigation system. This paper proposed an adaptive PECM estimation method based on variational Bayes (VB) to solve the problem of ANP misevaluation, which is caused by the traditional simple ANP model failing to accurately estimate PECM under unknown time-varying noise.
