Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a chronic gastrointestinal inflammatory disorder with rising prevalence. Due to the recurrent and difficult-to-treat nature of UC symptoms, current pharmacological treatments fail to meet patients' expectations. This study presents a machine learning-assisted high-throughput screening strategy to expedite the discovery of efficient nanozymes for UC treatment.

A universal theory for predicting the catalytic activity of hydrolytic nanozymes has yet to be developed. Herein, by investigating the polarization and hydrolysis mechanisms of nanomaterials towards amide bonds, carbocation charge was identified as a key electronic descriptor for predicting catalytic activity in amide hydrolysis. Through machine learning correlation analysis and the Sure Independence Screening and Sparsifying Operator (SISSO) algorithm, this descriptor was interpreted to associate with the d-band center and Lewis acidity on the nanomaterial surface.

Single-atom nanozymes (SAzymes) attempt to mimic this structure by modifying metal active sites with molecular ligands. However, SAzymes struggle to match the catalytic efficiency of natural enzymes due to constraints in active site proximity, quantity, and the inability to simulate electron transfer processes driven by internal electronic structures of natural enzymes.

In the current study, we employed the dummy template molecular imprinting technology with a dummy template molecule replacing the target molecule to establish a pretreatment method for samples containing p-toluene sulfonate esters. Through computer simulation and ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy analysis, the optimal functional monomer acrylamide and polymerization solvent chloroform were selected.

However, the conventional trial-and-error methodology for developing novel nanozymes encounters growing challenges as research progresses. The advent of artificial intelligence (AI), particularly machine learning (ML), has ushered in innovative design approaches for researchers in this domain.

This study examines the impact of gender and sexism on police officers' attitudes toward policing intimate partner violence (IPV). Data were collected from 826 Chinese police officers through online questionnaires. A hierarchical multiple regression analysis found that male police officers and those with sexist attitudes believe that handling IPV cases is illegitimate; they tend to perceive that the police are not morally bound to regulate such cases.

A total of 1096 patients (593 who had not received radiotherapy, and 503 who had) with primary stage IB-III uterine serous carcinoma who underwent surgery and received chemotherapy were included in the present study. The Kaplan-Meier method and Log-Rank tests showed that radiotherapy did not increase 5-year overall survival rates compared with the no-radiotherapy groups (52.

However, multienzyme-like nanozymes exhibit varying enzyme-like activities under different conditions, making them difficult to precisely regulate according to the design requirements. Moreover, individual enzyme-like activity in a multienzyme-like activity may accelerate, compete, or antagonize each other, rendering the overall activity a complex interplay of these factors rather than a simple sum of single enzyme-like activity.

Here, we discovered that ASB3 was essential for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) development and high ASB3 expression predicted poor clinical outcomes.

Keratitis, an inflammation of the cornea caused by bacterial or fungal infections, is one of the leading causes of severe visual disability and blindness. Keratitis treatment requires both the prevention of infection and the reduction of inflammation. However, owing to their limited therapeutic functions, in addition to the ocular barrier, existing conventional medications are characterized by poor efficacy and low bioavailability, requiring high dosages or frequent topical treatment, which represents a burden on patients and increases the risk of side effects.

A total of 7504 patients with stage IA, grade I-III uterine endometrioid carcinoma, and 857 patients with stage IB, grade I-II uterine endometrioid carcinoma were collected for the present study. Following propensity score matching (PSM), statistical analysis was performed for the equalized number of patients with stage IA, grade I-III uterine endometrioid carcinoma (n = 383) and patients with stage IB, grade I-II uterine endometrioid carcinoma (n = 330).

The rapid emergence of highly transmissible SARS-CoV-2 variants poses serious threat to the efficacy of vaccines and neutralizing antibodies. Thus, there is an urgent need to develop new and effective inhibitors against SARS-CoV-2 and future outbreaks. Here, we have identified a series of glycopeptide antibiotics teicoplanin derivatives that bind to the SARS-CoV-2 spike (S) protein, interrupt its interaction with ACE2 receptor and selectively inhibit viral entry mediated by S protein.
