Background: Multiple myeloma (MM) with Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) is relatively rare, and the specific mechanism is still unclear. The previous infection, surgery, and medication use may have contributed to the occurrence of GBS. The use of bortezomib in patients with MM can easily lead to peripheral neuropathy, which is similar to the symptoms of GBS, making it challenging to diagnose GBS.

Direct regeneration of spent lithium-ion batteries offers economic benefits and a reduced CO footprint. Surface prelithiation, particularly through the molten salt method, is critical in enhancing spent cathode repair during high-temperature annealing. However, the sluggish Li transport kinetics, which predominantly relies on thermally driven processes in the traditional molten salt methods, limit the prelithiation efficiency and regeneration of spent cathodes.

Previous work indicated that the implantation and pregnancy rates of women with endometriosis are lower than those of healthy women during in-vitro fertilisation and embryonic transfer. And there are numerous microRNAs (miRNAs) in human uterine luminal fluid (ULF), some of which are associated with early preimplantation development of embryos. In our study, we sought to determine whether miRNAs in the ULF are differentially expressed between women with and without endometriosis and to uncover the association of miRNAs with the development potential of blastocysts.

Genetic modification of vaccinia virus (VACV) is a fundamental and valuable research technique in elucidating the function of VACV genes, as well as the development as vaccine vectors for other infectious diseases, oncolytic therapeutics for cancers, and protein expression systems in mammalian cells. Because of the large size of poxvirus genome and noninfectious feature of the naked viral DNA, construction of recombinant VACV relies on intracellular homologous recombination between transfected DNA and replicating viral DNA in infected cells occurred in VACV infected cells. The efficiency of homologous recombination event for vaccinia virus is relatively low, and recombinant viruses only account for 0.

Metallic liquids under confinement exhibit different properties compared to those of their corresponding bulk phases, such as miscibility, diffusion, and phase transitions. Unfortunately, the challenges in experimentally characterizing Fe-Ni liquids at the nanoscale and the high cost of first-principles simulations hindered the atom-level understanding that is necessary for controlling Fe-Ni liquids. Here, we report a comprehensive molecular dynamics study of the liquid Fe-Ni alloy confined within nanoslits.

The meander-line coil electromagnetic acoustic transducer (EMAT) is widely used in the field of ultrasonic nondestructive testing due to its convenience to generate specific mode of guided waves. Some design methods of the meander-coil EMATs are developed in the frequency-wavenumber domain while others in the time-space domain. In this paper, a unified theoretical framework is developed by proposing an analytical model from the system perspective.

Co-based bimetallic zeolite imidazolate frameworks (ZIFs) have been shown as promising electrocatalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction, but their electronic structure's influence on the catalytic performance for overall water splitting still needs further investigation. In this study, CoV-ZIF, structured as two-dimensional (2D) nanosheet arrays, are grown on nickel foam using one-step co-precipitation strategy. Owing to the synergistic effects of vanadium (V) and cobalt (Co) reasonably regulating the electronic structure, the synthesized bimetallic ZIFs demonstrate superior catalytic performance, which required the overpotentials of only 227 and 68 mV to achieve a current density of 10 mA cm in 1 M KOH for oxygen evolution reaction (OER) and hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), respectively.
