Background: Multiple myeloma (MM) with Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) is relatively rare, and the specific mechanism is still unclear. The previous infection, surgery, and medication use may have contributed to the occurrence of GBS. The use of bortezomib in patients with MM can easily lead to peripheral neuropathy, which is similar to the symptoms of GBS, making it challenging to diagnose GBS.

Methods: C57BL/6 mice were used to establish experimental periodontitis and CRC model.
Ethnopharmacological Relevance: The classic TCM prescription, Shoutai Wan (STW), is extensively used in clinical settings to manage threatened miscarriage and Recurrent spontaneous abortion (RSA). The complexity of pregnancy physiology, coupled with diverse etiologies, and the specificity of energy metabolism for normal embryo attachment and development, pose challenges to clinical diagnosis and treatment. The specific molecular mechanisms of how STW regulates these biological processes and contributes to the treatment of RSA remain to be elucidated.

Osimertinib, a third-generation EGFR-TKI, is currently one of most efficient treatments in clinical practice. However, it has a potentially fatal side effect: interstitial lung disease (ILD).

Surface prelithiation, particularly through the molten salt method, is critical in enhancing spent cathode repair during high-temperature annealing. However, the sluggish Li transport kinetics, which predominantly relies on thermally driven processes in the traditional molten salt methods, limit the prelithiation efficiency and regeneration of spent cathodes.

Background: Systemic light chain amyloidosis is a rare and debilitating disease, especially for which initially presented with digestive tract involvement. Myocardial amyloidosis is highly aggressive with generally poor prognosis and often resulted in missed diagnosis or misdiagnosis with routine examination tools. Multimodality imaging play an important role in diagnosing the amyloidosis effect on multiple organs.

Leukopenia, marked by diminished white blood cell (WBC) counts, presents significant challenges in the management of hematological malignancies and immunocompromised patients. This study evaluated the therapeutic potential of miltefosine (MFS), a phospholipid analogue, for treating leukopenia. In vitro studies using HL60 and NB4 cells revealed that MFS effectively promoted neutrophil differentiation and function, evidenced by the upregulation of surface markers CD11b, CD11c, CD14, and CD15, as well as enhanced bactericidal activity assessed through the NBT reduction assay.

And there are numerous microRNAs (miRNAs) in human uterine luminal fluid (ULF), some of which are associated with early preimplantation development of embryos. In our study, we sought to determine whether miRNAs in the ULF are differentially expressed between women with and without endometriosis and to uncover the association of miRNAs with the development potential of blastocysts.

Gastrointestinal microbiota may regulate the formation of marbling by influencing the nutritional metabolism of animals. This study analyzed the composition and functional differences of microbiota in the rumen and cecum, the differences in volatile fatty acids (VFAs) content in the longissimus thoracis muscle, and the differences in protein abundance in the longissimus thoracis muscle of ruminants with different marbling grades through microbiome-proteome analysis.

Because of the large size of poxvirus genome and noninfectious feature of the naked viral DNA, construction of recombinant VACV relies on intracellular homologous recombination between transfected DNA and replicating viral DNA in infected cells occurred in VACV infected cells. The efficiency of homologous recombination event for vaccinia virus is relatively low, and recombinant viruses only account for 0.

Nitrogen bond activation is a pivotal process in chemistry, with bond excitation being fundamental to understanding the underlying mechanisms, making the preparation of molecules in specific quantum states crucial. Here we report the first overtone excitation of the N molecule from XΣ( = 0, = 0, 1, and 2) to XΣ( = 2, = 0, 1, 2, and 3) using the stimulated Raman pumping (SRP) method in a pulsed molecular beam. N was detected using 2+1 resonance-enhanced multiphoton ionization through the a″Σ state.

Unfortunately, the challenges in experimentally characterizing Fe-Ni liquids at the nanoscale and the high cost of first-principles simulations hindered the atom-level understanding that is necessary for controlling Fe-Ni liquids. Here, we report a comprehensive molecular dynamics study of the liquid Fe-Ni alloy confined within nanoslits.

Some design methods of the meander-coil EMATs are developed in the frequency-wavenumber domain while others in the time-space domain. In this paper, a unified theoretical framework is developed by proposing an analytical model from the system perspective.

However, the relationship among wettability, coalescence mode, and substrate characteristics (roughness and nanopillar height) remains unclear. In this work, two coalescence modes, climbing coalescence and contacting coalescence, are first observed in the dynamic behaviors of Ti and Al droplets on rough substrates.

Bladder cancer (BCa) is the most common malignant tumor of the urinary system. Current treatments often have poor efficacy and carry a high risk of recurrence and progression due to the lack of consideration of tumor heterogeneity. Patient-derived organoids (PDOs) are three-dimensional tissue cultures that preserve tumor heterogeneity and clinical relevance better than cancer cell lines.

The aim of this study was to describe a magnetic resonance (MRI) scoring system for the assessment of different disc conditions in puncture-induced IDD, allowing standardization and comparison of results obtained by different investigators.

Co-based bimetallic zeolite imidazolate frameworks (ZIFs) have been shown as promising electrocatalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction, but their electronic structure's influence on the catalytic performance for overall water splitting still needs further investigation. In this study, CoV-ZIF, structured as two-dimensional (2D) nanosheet arrays, are grown on nickel foam using one-step co-precipitation strategy. Owing to the synergistic effects of vanadium (V) and cobalt (Co) reasonably regulating the electronic structure, the synthesized bimetallic ZIFs demonstrate superior catalytic performance, which required the overpotentials of only 227 and 68 mV to achieve a current density of 10 mA cm in 1 M KOH for oxygen evolution reaction (OER) and hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), respectively.
