To explore the responses of soil microorganisms to short-term nitrogen deposition in alpine meadow, we set three treatments of low nitrogen (5 g N·m·a), medium nitrogen (10 g N·m·a), and high nitrogen (15 g N·m·a) addition to investigate the effects of nitrogen-deposition induced alterations in plant diversity and soil physicochemical properties on microbial biomass carbon (MBC) and nitrogen (MBN) in a typical alpine meadow community of in Napahai. The results showed that nitrogen addition significantly increased soil MBC, MBN, and their quotients, with the increases of MBC being as high as 139.3% under medium nitrogen treatment.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAcute pancreatitis (AP) is inflammation of the pancreas, which may be due to a wide variety of etiologies that share a final common pathway of premature activation of pancreatic enzymes and resultant autodigestion of pancreatic parenchyma. Acute pancreatitis is easy to diagnose clinically, with the presence of at least 2 of the 3 criteria (upper abdominal pain, serum amylase or lipase level greater than 3 times the upper limit of normal, or characteristic findings on imaging studies) of the revised Atlanta classification. However, postmortem imaging examinations of pancreatitis are extremely rare, and very few successful cases have been reported.

This study was performed to evaluate the diagnosis of CP fractures combined with AC dislocation and the effectiveness of operative treatment using a clavicular hook plate.
Methods: Eighteen patients with CP fractures combined with AC dislocation were treated with a clavicular hook plate from May 2012 to June 2021.
Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) has limited effective treatment strategies. DNA damage response (DDR) genes are of therapeutic interest in multiple cancer types. This study aimed to depict the landscape of DDR mutations in ESCC and evaluate the association between DDR mutations and known immunotherapy biomarkers.

Databases including Embase, PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang Database, and Chinese Scientific Journal Database, were used to search articles before January 4, 2021. Eighteen studies with 1,267 participants met the inclusion criteria.

As a new device for preoperative localization, the 4-hook-anchor coaxial needle with scaled suture was tentatively applied in our department to improve the effect of preoperative localization. However, double spring coil, as a proven positioning technology, used to be our preferred method in the past.

Methods: We assessed 147 patients aged ≥50 years with distal radius fractures who underwent wrist radiographs and dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry. The DRCT was measured and calculated at two levels of the distal radius of the injured wrist on the radiographs.
Background: Phosphatidylinositol-3,4,5-trisphosphate dependent Rac exchange factor 1 (PREX1) was reported to be overexpressed in some cancers and involved in cancer development, but its expression and significance in gastric cancer remain unclear.
Aim: To evaluate the expression of PREX1 in gastric cancer and its significance in the development of gastric cancer, especially to evaluate the potential mechanism of PREX1 in gastric cancer.
Methods: Bioinformatic analysis was performed in order to examine the expression of PREX1 in gastric cancer.
Background: (Interleukin 17 Receptor Beta) IL17RB has been implicated in several malignancies. However, its role in the progression of and chemosensitivity in pancreatic cancer remains unknown. We aimed to determine the clinical significance of IL17RB expression in the prognosis of resectable pancreatic cancer and in the benefits from gemcitabine treatment.

Methods: From June 2014 to June 2016, 60 patients with femoral intertrochanteric fractures were treated with intramedullary nail, including 27 males and 33 females with an average age of 75 years old ranging from 49 to 88 years old. The lateral images of femoral neck were divided into areas during operation.
The complete sequence of a novel RNA virus isolated from (TbRV-1) was determined to be 12,239 nucleotides in length with five non-overlapping, linearly arranged coding sequences (CDS), potentially encoding nucleoproteins, hypothetical proteins, matrix proteins, glycoproteins, and RNA-dependent RNA polymerases. Sequence analysis indicated that the RNA-dependent RNA polymerase of TbRV-1 shares a 65% nucleotide and 67% amino acid sequence identity with Hubei dimarhabdovirus 2, suggesting that TbRV-1 is a member of the dimarhabdovirus supergroup. This corresponded to the result of the phylogenetic analysis.

Objective: To study the operative methods and clinical effects of stage therapy for the treatment of fractures of tibia plateau with osteofascial compartment syndrome according to its clinical characteristics.
Methods: From April 2014 to May 2017, 22 patients with fractures of tibia plateau with osteofascial compartment syndrome were treated by stage therapy, including 16 males and 6 females, ranging in age from 22 to 56 years old, with an average of 39 years old. Fifteen patients had injuries on the left and 7 patients had injuries on the right.
Isolated neurofibromas that affect the gastrointestinal tract are rare and almost always manifest as neurofibromatosis type 1 or multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2b. In this paper, we present a case of a 24-year-old female with abdominal pain who discharged a neurofibroma in her stool without any blood on it. A colonoscopy showed multiple small polyps in the sigmoid colon and a nodule in the ileocecus.

Organic carbon (OC) and elemental carbon (EC) in the PM and PM samples were analyzed by a Multiwavelength Thermal/Optical Carbon Analyzer, and the characteristics, including pollution levels, temporal and spatial distributions, and possible sources of OC and EC, were investigated. The results showed that the OC and EC mass concentrations in PM in Yulin were 10.

Results showed that particulate matter (PM) sized between 20 nm-10 μm were concentrated in the 23 to 395 nm range, with a peak of 100 nm. Three new particle types were generated during the course of this monitoring.

Along with the declined plant productivity and the impaired functioning of the soil carbon sink, the diversity and structure of soil microbial communities are also affected in a degraded peatland ecosystem. Tibetan pig herding is a unique peatland management strategy, which can significantly affect the peatland ecosystem, but it has been rarely studied.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA typical characteristic of the insect innate immune system is the activation of the serine protease cascade in the hemolymph. As being the terminal component of the extracellular serine protease cascade in the prophenoloxidase (proPO) activating system, proPO-activating factors (PPAFs) activated by the upstream cascade may generate active phenoloxidase, which then induces downstream melanization. In the present study, we reported three PPAFs from the nipa palm hispid beetle Octodonta nipae (Maulik) (designated as OnPPAF1, OnPPAF2, OnPPAF3).
